Pro-Palestine Demos/ Marches

Anyone who attended a pro-Palestine demonstration/ march yesterday, on the day of the second anniversary of the barbaric attacks, needs to check their moral compass.

Nothing else needs to be said, no whataboutery, nothing.

I’d rather support a Pro Palestine march than support a country or groups of people that thinks it’s ok to mass murder and displace an innocent population for its own selfish gain.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 09/10/2025 05:08

The free palastine marches have got nothing to do with hamas or the attack in October - people want little kids to stop being killed and a genocide from continuing.

you can be horrified by both things.

Did the idf take a break that day and not kill anyone!?

sunflower1022 · 09/10/2025 08:47

Why on Tuesday though? It’s usually on Saturdays, so why on the 7th?

OP posts:
sunflower1022 · 09/10/2025 08:59

I’m guessing nobody is going to answer that.

Wasting your typing OP.

Unfortunately I think you’re right.

I would seriously love to hear from the previous posters why those marches were held on Tuesday this week.

Anyone?

Because the bombing of Gaza is still continuing?

Because the bombing of Gaza is still continuing?

But the marches were never held on a Tuesday before.

You are being deliberately obtuse.

Anyone want to claim this one was a protest against genocide and not a celebration of Hamas?

Because the actions of Israel have meant that 7/10 is now not just a date of an abominable terrorist act, but also marks the start of a revenge campaign of slaughter and genocide.

Saying that I think it is better to commemorate them on different days, that it's tasteless to do them on the same day, and wouldn't and didn't go to those marches. Actually I don't go to any of the matches, because the timings don't work with my child who has disabilities, and I don't live in a big city. But I wouldn't go to one on the anniversary unless it happened to be in a usual march day.

sunflower1022 · 09/10/2025 11:18

I think it was absolutely an act of celebration and I wish people would stop with the fake excuses. Fucking own it.

So when you were like, answer me this, why is no one answering me, why will no one give me an explanation?

And then I did, though explaining I wouldn't have done it, it's no I disagree.

I'm not sure why we bother frankly.

Well you just said yourself that you would not be attending a march on the anniversary, so you obviously don’t agree with it either.

OP posts:

And there are absolutely people (and not a ‘small minority’) who went out on Tuesday to celebrate the 07th Oct attacks and intimidate the Jewish community by spouting their vile slogans.

Rather worryingly I see plans are for big Palestine protests on Remembrance Sunday. I’m not one for banning protests, but this shows that the protestors are just unpleasant full stop.

Deeply unpleasant.

Think it's tasteless and I think it would be better if they were commemorated on separate days, where both can individually be given the attention they deserve.. I wouldn't go any further than that or make any assumptions on their motivations though.

sunflower1022 · 09/10/2025 11:37

You’d hope the authorities ban it but it wouldn’t make a difference anyway, would it.

Well we can definitely agree that it’s tasteless.

Are we not done with these endless threads on whether or not people in this country should have the right to peaceful protest?
It seems like there is a deal that will end the slaughter in Gaza, so perhaps we could all just take a breather ?

deckchairmayhem · 09/10/2025 11:42

I think you re wrong about that.
Why does one atrocity get an anniversary when so many other equally abhorrent atrocities don't.

I don’t think it’s as simple as that because Jewish people are currently at best feeling unwelcome in this country and at worst under threat.

It’s not right.

It doesn’t ‘get’ an anniversary!
