Mini pride....Is it going too far?

I was just looking for an event at a local historic house near me. I came across a mini pride day. Had a look and it's for LGBQT families.

I personally think it's OTT. Why is this needed? Can't they explain things to their own dcs? Why make a big thing of it?

Or aibu and it's a great idea?

If it's raising awareness and normalising all types of relationships that's great. If it's sexualising children then it's inappropriate. Hopefully the parents will be able to make their own decision.

😆😆

Sure, we have crop tops and bralets for 5 year old girls in the shops but it’s mini pride that’s sexualising children.

No it's actually made me think about it.

I still don't get why they have to put T but they obviously felt the need? 🙄

Yeah let’s, not turn everything into a T debate.

The T bit was added after the stonewall riots decades ago because trans people played an important part in gaining rights for LGBT people. However now, unfortunately the LGBT acronym has been hijacked by trans rights activists and gender ideology idiots and they have clouded the meaning of it. Being LGB and being trans or believing you a different gender identity to your sex have got nothing to do with each other. Sadly many straight people with little knowledge or experience of the LGBT community now lump them all in together and imo it’s increasing homophobia and a lack of understanding about what it means to be LGB

What are you talking about?

I’m sick of all the pride events as well, I used to love pride but they aren’t much to do with gay people anymore. I’m a lesbian and feel like the acceptance of gay people is actually going down.

A family pride event sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't want to take kids to a regular pride event as I don't think they need "educating" about male kinks and fetishes.

Many, many gay and lesbian people are not happy about the homophobic T, and want rid of it.
The Pride events popping up all over are all about the T abd often aimed at children.

Yep lots of stupid parents buying sexualised products helps drive a market which in turn normalises the idea of childern being mini adults which means more product is provided.
😕

ManyShapesOfPasta · 05/09/2025 18:46

Crop tops aren't telling children that they can change sex.
Lush, the shop, sent out binders for girls, even though it's known they are damaging.

Er, no.

The T was added when same sex marriage was achieved and Stonewall needed to carry on getting income in. Which is why so many of the original Stonewall founders had to set up their own LGB Alliance many years later after Stonewall trashed their history and reputation by calling lesbians 'sexual racists' (and the rest). They hired a man to give training in how other men could get past the 'Cotton Ceiling'...aka lesbians' knickers.

Just because LGB has been wiped off the internet or TRA are busy photoshopping old march photos does not make rebranding myth true.

The wiki pages giving T all the action verbs at Stonewall are a great example of how propaganda works.
