Has anyone seen this on Netflix?!

OP posts:

Pinned

I am not sure we can have a rewarding conversation without spoilers! I would love to talk about this

I’m dying to! I don’t think I can change the thread title to add a spoiler warning ⚠️

DinoLil · 02/09/2025 12:06

Yes, I watched this last week.

I thought it might have been the cousin, couldn't believe who the actual culprit was (no spoilers!). The sentence they received was far too short imo and there should be a lifetime of no contact in place.

youalright · 02/09/2025 12:09

The person who did it took zero responsibility and just genuinely didn't seem to see anything wrong in their actions. Saying everyone breaks the law its just i got caught.

LadyDanburysHat · 02/09/2025 12:10

It was truly horrific, and I think that poor girl really needs some serious counselling.

I agree the perpetrator took no responsibility and just didn't seem to care how many lives they have destroyed.

BloodyHellKenn · 02/09/2025 12:16

I can’t believe what I just watched and yes, the perpetrator took no responsibility of their actions. That poor girl.

It’s absolutely horrifying! Also just another reminder why children do not need phones

Armychef30 · 02/09/2025 12:44

Yes I watched this last week an absolute shocker. Absolutely no accountability from the perpetrator just a load of excuses. My money wasn't on them I genuinely thought it was one of the girls in her team

Newstartplease24 · 02/09/2025 12:46

The relationship tjat still exists between the girl and the perpetrator is very upsetting.

Truly shocking.

That poor child will probably cut the person off eventually, it's going to take a long time for her to get her head around.

No the child is not to blame for what the person did

SteakBakesAndHotTakes · 02/09/2025 12:52

SPOILER ALERT

Horrific, and even worse how people are saying the daughter must have been in on it because she didn't seem shocked when she found out. Anyone with insight into developmental trauma from a narcissist/cluster B parent knows that children often dissociate and present as emotionally blunted. The mother didn't even apologise in the moment, just hugged and invaded the daughter's space and said she couldn't be away from her...acting the victim, and saying she did it to protect her daughter...

It's all very typical if you have deal with one of these before. Total delusion and lack of accountability.

youalright · 02/09/2025 12:54

Spoiler alert

How can anyone tell their own daughter to kill themselves and tell her how ugly she is. I think she was jealous of her daughter and fancied her boyfriend

SPOILER 🚨
Yes, it was obvious that the daughter was in shock at that point and wasn’t reacting. When the Mother was all over her hugging her and kissing her I just wanted to shout at the TV to get off her!! She definitely has Stockholm syndrome and has been manipulated and controlled by her mother for years!

LimbOnTheBranchBranchOnTheTreeTheTreeInTheBog · 02/09/2025 12:59

Absolutely.

When that child has children of her own its really going to hit her how fucked up it all is, and that's when she will break ties I think.

TaupeMember · 02/09/2025 13:07

That poor, poor child

Such a sweetie too.

What evil shes experienced in her life from the worst possible person.

NoNotTodayThanks · 02/09/2025 13:27

SPOILER 🚨

I watched it last night and I was appalled! I can't believe someone would do such a thing to their own child or to any child for that matter.

I honestly think Kenda was obsessed with Owen and that she was jealous of her daughter because of her relationship with him. It would explain why even after they split up she started to harass Owen's new girlfriend and her mum.

I felt so sorry for everyone impacted by Kendra's behaviour but especially Lauryn and her dad. I don't think it will really hit Lauryn how manipulative and awful her mum really is until she gets older.

But I really hope Lauryn goes on to live a happy life and can heal from the trauma she's suffered. I'm just glad she never hurt herself after the constant messages telling her to do just that. Sick beyond belief!

spiderlight · 02/09/2025 13:31

spoiler
It was absolutely mind-blowing, and the daughter's reaction was so, so weird. That is a deeply unhealthy relationship. How could she have said those things to her own daughter??! I couldn't believe that the daughter still wanted a relationship with her.

Wordsmithery · 02/09/2025 13:45

Feel I can talk freely now as it's obvious from other posts who the perp was. Just in case, though - SPOILER ALERT!
What a horrific outcome. I wonder if Kendra has ever apologised to Lauryn. I presume not as she seems to accept no responsibility.
Am guessing K has significant mental health problems. She also lied to her husband about her job.
Owen said towards the end that he's angry with Lauryn but I didn't understand why. I don't know what she did wrong.

PhuckTrump · 02/09/2025 13:56

Good on the dad for kicking her out immediately.

Newstartplease24 · 02/09/2025 14:04

That impressed me. He was angry but calm and decisive. I would have been doing my nut but he was focusing on what needed to be done

19lottie82 · 02/09/2025 14:08

How did she get the contact details of the new girlfriend though? Was that explained?
