Has anyone seen them? Where people send their location and table number (and a sob story) and ask for free drinks or food to be sent to them?

aibu to think this is a bit cheeky? When we could all do with a free drink/platter in these cozzy livs? (Apologies but it makes me chuckle)

I'd be made up with a fried egg and some mushy peas. It's just the being in Wetherspoons part I couldn't handle

That's all that seems to come up on my FB, what I do laugh at is when someone comments saying oh I'll send something now and the original post will be from 4 days ago 😂

The point is that you pay it forward. So people tend to write in the description that they’ve ’played before’ (as in bought others a drink when they’ve posted). How true this is I don’t know. It tends to be the funny ones with good write ups that do well.

It’s a bit of fun off the back of the Wetherspoons app. Nobody is obliged to join in.

I really don't think he needs to start threads on mumsnet as advertising.

It's not something I'd be likely to do, but it seems pretty harmless- just a silly pay it forward game.

It pops up on my Facebook from time to time and I don't see any 'sob stories', just people saying they've passed exams or builders stuck somewhere remote on a job etc.

I was out with a colleague once and we took a selfie, thought nothing of it. Turns out she posted the selfie of us on one of those Facebook pages asking for people to buy us drinks. I found it very cringe and embarrassing.

I was just coming to say, my fb feed seems to be full of them! I’ve never seen any students asking, or homeless people, but lots of girls with low cut tops that I imagine is a stock photo seems to bring out a load of creeps in the comments sending them drinks. If it’s a man actually admitting to asking, he has to have a sob story to be able to post it seems. I’ve also seen a lot of kids in recently, people saying “my kids say this won’t work so please send no -alcoholic stuff” and I wonder how many ice creams one table may need.

If I remember correctly we did get a couple of drinks 😂 but I'm still not sure if she secretly ordered them herself to soften the blow after I told her I was annoyed she did that without asking me 🤣

As much as yes, no one is forcing anyone to buy anyone anything, people send stupid shit like a pot of baked beans or a kids fruit shoot and there’s just a massive amount of food waste with it which does infuriate me!

Although not as much as Cozzy Livs seems to infuriate MN 😂

Have played and paid forward a couple of times.
It’s just a bit of fun.. no different in cheeky levels to the local free-cycle page!
