Does anyone else feel the same?

What? It's the 9th of August and more than a few weeks til schools go back.

Are you talking weather wise? Are you in the UK? Most areas forecast to be in the 20's for the next week.

BlondieMuver · 09/08/2025 17:23

3 weeks of summer holidays here...
Weather is provided great this week!

StickChildNumberTwo · 09/08/2025 17:25

Back to school next week here (Scotland), and yes, it does seem to have sped away. Can't say I'm looking forward to getting everybody back into routine.

SolidarityCone · 09/08/2025 17:27

Nope, I’m waiting for a book to be released 2nd September, the summer cannot disappear soon enough! I could also do with some rain asap, it’s so dry.

OrangeAxolotyl · 09/08/2025 17:27

It seems to me to have been a really long summer. It's been very warm and dry. As pp have said, next week is going to be hot again!

Netcurtainnelly · 09/08/2025 17:35

Yes OP. Summer needs a speeding ticket, needs to slow down.

MaryGreenhill · 09/08/2025 17:35

It's beautiful here in Monmouthshire and forecast warm and dry for the next week . I don't know where you are but we are having the best Summer here and it's still ongoing . Long may it last 😊

Blobbitymacblob · 09/08/2025 17:36

Don’t worry, January is coming to balance it out 😖

Lafufucrazy · 09/08/2025 17:36

I don’t really mean weather wise, just in general…kids will be back at school in a few weeks 😔

Summer has come back today where we are!

Are you in England? It’s less than half way through the summer holidays here!

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 09/08/2025 17:38

It’s really hot where I am today and forecast to remain so for a while.

It feels really summery today!

I’m in England so schools not back for another three weeks.

OneGladRoseTiger · 09/08/2025 17:39

Schools here start again Monday. This year the summer has gone by very fast.

Greenwithenvy13 · 09/08/2025 17:39

Summer is never long enough for me. I would happily have summer all year round.

Is it still warm where you are, or is it cooler now?

Jellycatspyjamas · 09/08/2025 17:40

It does seem to have sped by here, school is back next week and I feel I’ve hardly seen my two. I do love autumn but summer has felt short.

I'm in England, so we're only half way through the 6 weeks.

IDontHateRainbows · 09/08/2025 17:41

Nah, I love the changing of the seasons and early autumn, sept/ oct , is beautiful.

Id hate to live somewhere where it was summer all year round

Warm all year round. We live in Florida.

SnowFrogJelly · 09/08/2025 17:46

No because it hasn’t gone yet! Look out of the window it’s a beautiful eve

Twistedfirestarters · 09/08/2025 18:01

I was thinking the same thing today op. Yes, it looks like we're due some nice weather this week which I'm determined to make the most of, but the second half of August feels like the last bit of summer.

Not everything is about the summer holidays so not really sure why being half way through the summer holidays is particularly relevant when discussing the season itself.

It feels like the summer months whizz by far quicker than the winter months, probably because the weather is nicer/more enjoyable.

VintageMarket · 09/08/2025 18:03

It's often lovely weather well into September.

Twistedfirestarters · 09/08/2025 18:17

Not where I am it isn't. We might get a couple of bonus summery days and it certainly isn't peak Autumn but usually feels like summer is mostly behind us by September.
