Let's have a little drinking vessel sanity?
Here is a picture of the little cup (not mug) I use at work.

I will update with a mug when I get home.

Special glasses and tea pots etc also welcome, why not

That’s a very pretty cup. I might post a nice glass I have later, but right now I’m lazing on the sofa

didgeridid · 23/07/2025 10:46

It's very pretty but I fear after two mouthfuls it would be empty!

ItDoesntHaveToBeASnowman · 23/07/2025 10:46

Oh no it’s far too small.

ItDoesntHaveToBeASnowman · 23/07/2025 10:47

Seriously is that like some fancy espresso cup or something?

I use decant my special tea into it from my flask, it cools down quicker and I can drink it without waiting. Do I sound mad?

No but it sounds faffy. You need a great big filthy sports direct mug.

Tillow4ever · 23/07/2025 11:17

I don’t drink hot drinks, but I do enjoy my Pepsi Max. I have 2 favourite glasses, both bought by my team at work. One was for 18 years at the company and it’s a personalised “Tillow’s Pepsi Max” glass, the other is a tall pint glass with my name, 20 years at the company name and the month and year that was from. Both are very, very special to me as the team that bought me them are the best team I have ever worked with here.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 23/07/2025 11:17

It does seem a bit small but I can see your point about wanting it cooled ready to drink.

HurdyGurdy19 · 23/07/2025 11:28

I had an unusually shaped poppy mug, which I used when I was office based, and which I take with me on the rare occasions I am in the office. It is definitely my office mug, and is hidden in a cupboard at home.

Attached is my home mug. I am now 100% home based, but I don't feel right drinking out of my office mug at home, so I always use this one.

My home mug was a gift from my daughter. It's not even the original mug, as I dropped the original and smashed it. I also dropped and smashed the replacement. Thanks to Ebay, I now have three of these mugs "just in case".

If anyone as much as stretches a hand towards my home mug (unless they are making me a tea), they immediately get "the look", accompanied by a loud clearing of my throat.

We have plenty of other mugs for general use, but this one is My Mug and no one gets to use it 😂

(I don't even like Winnie the Pooh that much 😅)

Lovely far too small muglet @tamade .

I have so many faves.
All my most fave faves are dead and gone and broken though, so I've learnt to spread my favouritism thinly. DH broke three of them! At different times. Bull in a china shop unfortunately. 😂

Here ya go, just some current faves knocking around. 😍 Lol all pics just taken, all wonky!

I prefer a china mug. When it breaks, I scour ebay to find the EXACT replacement. It's amazing what you can find.

JustAnInchident · 23/07/2025 11:35

Lovely shape, terrible size.

My current favourite is this one, a Waitrose buy. Big enough without being oversized, keeps drinks hot for ages, the texture is lovely, good weight, very pretty… honestly I could wax lyrical all day 😂
Second place goes to my pint mug from Emma Bridgewater. Pink hearts and personalised, naturally.

I’ve got the same, love a big mug me!

This was my favourite mug. It was absolutely perfect: light bone china, slightly curved at the top do that it felt lovely on the lips, slightly splayed at the bottom for stability (I can be quite clumsy), and a handle that fitted my fingers as though tailored for them. Plus I loved the wording.

I've to decide whether to replace it mail order (what if it's changed, doesn't feel right any more?) or wait until we visit Temple Newsam House again (what if we don't?) or keep an eye out for a different, lovely, bone china mug? Oh, decisions, decisions!

What is the device upon which your beautiful mug sits?

OMG mug sisters!
Question on this one- do you find your tea/beverage cools a tad quicker in this (and the other one like it, last pic) than in other mugs? And it's not the shape (wide top) because I have other wide topped mugs, it's something to do with the thermal properties of the china...

#Mug/geeks/r/us 😂

I have a lake shaped mug and I like it because the tea is almost instantly available for drinking. I have a different mug for drinking tea in bed when I want to sip and make the tea last longer.

SparklyGlitterballs · 23/07/2025 11:50

I like the colours on this mug, although I have a few others I'm fond of.

Today’s mug is not my favourite but my daughter made my tea this morning and she knows the ones I like. I have a whole load of different mugs from companies I’ve worked with and stolen procured over the years. Each is a reminder of a specific job I’ve done.

The second is my go to mug for working because it’s bigger. I drink a lot of tea, so a bigger mug means fewer trips to the kitchen. My favourite big mug broke recently so I’m on the hunt for a new one. I prefer a tall mug with a smaller circumference rather than the large one here. Nobody else in my house uses the big mugs so they are unlikely to cause any kind of family rift.

@Rictasmorticia I've reported your post only because you've added some financial documents with the one of the mug your dd makes!

Rictasmorticia · 23/07/2025 12:01

Thanks I have reported it too. No idea how that got super imposed

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 23/07/2025 12:03

This is my favourite mug. It ticks a lot of boxes - my kids bought it for me, it's white inside (essential for tea), it has an otter on it, and has a sensibly-sized handle.

Why does everyone seem to have their cups of tea on kitchen scales? What am I missing?
