It's too much, had a cool bath and that helped for a bit - thought about going for a walk to sit under a treee or something but it just seemed to hot to even do that.

Yes. I tried to make the best of it with lollies and paddling pools but I want to get back to my normal activities like doing some light cleaning without breaking into a sweat and sleeping at night.

Orangesandlemons77 · 13/07/2025 17:58

We live in a flat which doesn't help as the building catches the last rays of the sun well into the evening- it feels like an oven

And YY to not being able to do much. I have today put off changing the beds and cleaning the kitchen because of it. Will do it tomorrow.

I’m glad but it’s hardly over for long …still 23 here tomorrow, cool Tuesday then warming up again!

WhatNoRaisins · 13/07/2025 18:00

I've got a massive backlog of jobs around the house that I've not wanted to do in the heat.

It’s so humid and still, really overbearing.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 13/07/2025 18:20

Cools off here tomorrow then hot and wet so humid. Nice.

Yep, we're still at 26 tomorrow, a cooler (21 degrees) day on Tuesday, but then 25-28 for as long as the BBC weather forecast goes.

Definitely feels like this is the pattern for the rest of the summer - long periods of hot weather interspersed by a day's respite. 😩

I've been in the south of France for holidays in the summer and it follows that pattern, wonder if we are going like that too. Builds up in heat and then a storm.

Make the most of the cooler spell (which will still be warm by the way!) It will be hot again by the end of the week!!! 🔥

ImAPreMadonna · 13/07/2025 18:49

I’m loving the heat. Long may it (not) reign!

ETA I actually do want rain, at night. But I’m truly loving this heat.

TheChosenTwo · 13/07/2025 18:52

Yabu imo because I love this weather.
Don’t relish months and months and months of grey although I do like the actual seasons - when they’re not all identically grey!

FloofyBird · 13/07/2025 18:56

I saw a headline of this today but it's due to be 28/29 in east Anglia tomorrow

LazySunbedDays · 13/07/2025 18:57

I’m not wanting it to end. Not impacted me other than no long weekend walks with the dog.
Have done the garden today whilst the dog lay in the shade.
Will make DH and DSC something to eat on me the BBQ as soon as the tennis is over (they went out for lunch so not hungry yet)

Iwantsandybeachesandgoodfood · 13/07/2025 19:02

I love the heat and I’m typically happy with temperatures above 30 degrees but I’m perimenopausal and finding it horrible. I’m constantly sweaty, I look like shit and I’m either drinking water or peeing every few minutes. I hate the cold more though so this does seem the lesser evil.

Sunshineandrainbow · 13/07/2025 19:02

So glad a few days of relief are coming!

DrCoconut · 13/07/2025 19:04

I just hope the weather doesn't break for the summer holidays. It will be rubbish if it's wet and windy while we're away after all the sun we've been having.

AluckyEllie · 13/07/2025 19:05

I love the long days and just bunging me and the kids in shorts/tee/sandals. Can just go for picnics, no mud, no cold, no layers. However we desperately need rain. The poor farmers have gone from complete washout springs to the driest spring for 200 years! If it could rain at night I think everyone would be happy.

DanielRicciardosSmile · 13/07/2025 19:06

Im longing for it to be over. I wish I was a heat lover but I'm just not. I'm such a January baby. And then add in perimenopause and sertraline and I'm just not coping this year.

Yeah I agree. During half term in February, and during the Easter holidays, it did rain for about half the week. Always in school holidays! Like it always rains during the school run! (Morning and afternoon!)

Hope it's lovely for the summer holidays! ☀

AssemblyPoint · 13/07/2025 19:07

I just wish we had actual seasons so I could plan my life! I love lots of different outdoor activities plus camping, but hate booking anything in advance due to not knowing what the weather is like.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 13/07/2025 19:10

I’m disabled and my ankles and knees are like footballs. I have medical ice packs which help, but even they go floppy quicker( made of flexible gel)
I live in a grade 2 listed conversion and the temp has rarely dropped beneath 25 despite a powerful fan on all day and most of the night
im sleeping in my recliner in front of it
One thing that DOES help keep all creams lotions and potions( face and body) in the fridge.
A moment of bliss

Kemblick · 13/07/2025 19:13

South facing, red brick house + perimenopause = miserable hot and sleep deprived!

RareMaker · 13/07/2025 19:32

Im in east anglia. Says 28 tomorrow but then a few days break.

This won't be the last heat wave though this year.
