Best cat repellant for the garden?

I have some time of work and I am tidying up the back garden.

The neighbours cats will come and play in our garden so I want to cat proof the garden for my toddlers so they don’t stand or pick up any cat poo.

I have looked on Amazon and have found mixed reviews.

Any suggestions welcome please xx

Cats are pretty tidy with their poo, will go somewhere private in the corner and fully bury it, are they even going in your garden?

i personally think it’s nice for your toddler to see the cat play and get to interact with it. It’s unlikely they will stand on or pick up cat poo but if you really don’t like it then I guess a water pistol

I also used to believe this when I had a cat but it is not true, I think they must be where the phrase “you don’t shit on your own doorstep” comes from as cats never seem to do it on their own territory just other peoples.

now I have poo in my garden on a daily basis so it is probably karma, we know it is from next doors cat as we have cameras.

@cupcakessl unfortunately I haven’t found anything that works, cats seem to get used to them very quickly. I am toying with the idea of spikes but that seems too mean at the moment.

A dog

Yes - or a fiercer cat!

Following. My neighbour’s cat is a nightmare. Regularly poos on a large table we have in garden, tries to eat fish from pond. Climbs in windows of our house if we leave them open. Poos in middle of lawn. It’s a massive thing and not at all bothered if you go to chase it away. Can’t stand it

Edited

Yes, there's one who climbs in my windows if left open
I had to move the wheely bins to prevent access, but he can still get in the bathroom by going up onto next doors flat roof and walking along. I have to keep the bathroom door shut to stop him getting into the rest of the house. I often see him scooching out the window as I open the door to go to the loo!
