OMG I’m so mad at my DP!

I went out for the evening and my DP had someone in to redecorate our bedrooms. He replaced our (expensive) super king bed with a single bed and duvets on the floor, and the entire room was (badly) painted with trolls and superheroes! Our children had bunkbeds but the baby had to sleep on a hammock on the steps.

Obviously I was dreaming 😂 my DP just woke me up on the sofa where I’d wrapped myself in a blanket because I had a sore throat. I told him, jokingly, how mad I was at him, but honestly it’s taking me a while to calm down and go to bed properly. I don’t think I’ve ever been so angry, asleep or awake!

AIBU to ask, what is the worst thing you’ve dreamt your partner/family member did? (Lighthearted!)

I have had similar dreams where dh did something to annoy me and I was upset with him after waking up. Don't remember the details though 😊

I've dreamt twice that DP has done something awful. The one I remember was when he cheated (on the dream!). I wasn't annoyed at that much but more at the blase way he allowed me to end it with him... Decades of relationship and he couldn't give a fig. I was seething.

I got quite angry with my director at work because of a dream, though I can't I remember the details now. Conversely, I am feeling very well inclined towards a colleague at the moment, because he was in a dream last week and being very lovely (in a completely respectable way.) He is nice, but he doesn't deserve quite such a good rating IRL.

I dreamt that DH had an affair with a woman called Kezia from work. I was going to rinse him of all his money.

When he brought me a cuppa up, I was demanding to know who Kezia was. He was obviously bewildered!

I had a dream the other night, I can't remember what it was about but I know i was angry at my DH and I actually woke myself up, shouting, "Oh for God's sake. I'll just bloody well do it then shall I?"
I was so angry with him, even when I woke up.
He, on the other hand, was blissfully unaware, didn't even stir to me shouting (clearly immune to it in sleep aswell as waking hours) but, more annoyingly, continued to snore like a drain. I was MAD so I jabbed him awake!!

I was livid with Mr Scarlet for a whole day after he let a family of mice move into our upstairs fridge.

(We have no fridge upstairs and all fridges in our house are rodent-free.)

Had a recurrent dream off & on for yrs, about DH cheating on me, always the same dream, only ever saw the other woman from behind, so height, figure, hair, never saw her face-on. 10 yrs of this dream, it happened, so now Ex-DH.....

Mine cheated in my dream..... I was so angry at him n didn't speak to him for days 🤣 poor bloke was so confused
Another time I was asleep, he kissed me on the forehead and I'm a sleep talker I shouted "f**k off I don't want coffee, I hate it" 🤣🤣🤣

I was livid with the gas man that knocked on my door at 10 am for a boiler check.
I was about to kiss a very handsome chinese emperor our lips was about to touch then KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.

Yes, have you ever had a decidedly hot dream about someone totally unsuitable (and not even sexy) and then started to look at them in a new light? It's... weird.

I’m a toy collector, and I dreamt my mother had given a big chunk of my collection to my old school for their summer fair, and I only just managed to rescue them.

I was honestly sat fuming all morning at work 😄 I had to call her to a) remind myself it hadn’t happened and b) stop feeling mad at her!

Dreamed DH filled the entire boot of the car with hazelnut yoghurt because I told him I liked them. They were short dated as well. I woke up and my immediate thought was "you bloody idiot, what am I supposed to do with all of those?!" 🤣 I was privately cross with him all day!

DH is lucky I'm still married to him, his dream self is horrible. Over the years he has -

Lost DD
Swapped the dog for a tiger
Sold the house and forgot to tell me until moving day
Taken the dog to school and dd to the groomers.

I also dislike Gene Wilder because he came in a hot air balloon to the hospital and stole DD and the nurses wouldn't stop him because he was the nice man with the oompa loompas.

I remember having a really busy intense and vivid dream one night where I’d been teaching slightly incorrect dodgy geography - about the equator and these other totally made up lines across the world, and sorting out some kind of child protection issue.
But that week I was doing a really intense week volunteering on a residential on a canal boat with children with disabilities.
So I was fuming that I’d spent the night teaching geography and then had a really intense day ahead of me when I was so tired!

I have had two bad dreams about DH.

The first he selfishly died on holiday and I struggled to deal with it as I couldn’t speak the language and couldn’t get his body repatriated and the second he had an affair.

Both times I couldn’t obviously moan at him, but he knew I was annoyed and asked why so I told him and he found it really funny that I was annoyed at dream him. It’s hard not to let the annoyance carry on even when you know you are completely in the wrong.

I remember being livid with Mr del a few years ago

In real life,it was a few days from my birthday

In dream life,I was asleep with Mr del next to me

I heard the bedroom window open and Donald Trump came climbing through,clutching a birthday cake,complete with candles

I took the cake off him and went to unzip his trousers to give him a bj and glanced over to see Mr del sat on the edge of the bed,grinning at me

I woke up with a jolt and burst into tears

Mr del was at work (he worked nights at that point) and I was fuming with him for weeks for not stopping me

He thought it was hilarious when he got home (in real life) and asked if Mr trump fake tan his willy or did he stop at his neck?

Honest to God,it took weeks for me to look him in the eye again

I once had a very hot dream about dh’s best, lovely so not hot, friend. I couldn’t look at him for ages.

Oh yes! Then see them the next day (boss) with it fresh in your head and think I had no idea you you were allergic to the syrup you were licking off me and I had to resuscitate you using a specific sticker from my DC's wardrobe.

Flirting and cheating right in front of me. Ha took a while it felt so real at the time.

While I was still married to my now ExTwatDH, I twice dreamt he'd died - once hit by a car, once being shot. They were the most vivid, long detailed dreams, right down to being in the hospital, dealing with his parents, the whole nine yards. Both times I woke up and was shocked rigid to find him sleeping peacefully beside me, and utterly furious I'd had to go through the whole dream experience.

I then was really widowed three years ago when my subsequent partner of 11 years died unexpectedly, and it felt like an even more intense Groundhog Day experience.

Dreams are so weird, it's like being tortured by the subconscious sometimes. DP has "visited" in my dreams several times since he's been gone, and it's horribly conflicting.

I probably need a damn good therapist. A real one, not ChatGPT or Claude thanks.

On a lighter note, I still remember a really weird one from my teenage years about having a steamy encounter with John Inman of all people, which was happening as we went backwards down a helter skelter. My family couldn't understand why I'd leave the room if there was a re-run of Are You Being Served on. Hormones. Bloody hormones 🤭

When I was a child my parents had a small rose bed in the middle of their garden it had 4 rose bushes in a line and dsis and I called it the rose grave or just the grave. Fast forward several years later and my dd was a few weeks old and slept in a cot in my room, I had a nightmare that dd died, I was holding her and was at my parents home, Dad came in with a shovel and told me not to be silly, to stop holding the dead baby and I had to go and bury her in the rose grave and he handed me the spade. I woke up screaming, woke dd who also started screaming and wasn't impressed by being snatched from her cot and cuddled and kissed by a sobbing mess of a mother (my now exdh slept through it all). Later that day my parents popped round for some reason and I shouted at my dad that I was not going to bury my dd and he was horrible for telling me to and if he ever said it again I would hit him with the bloody shovel!
Poor man was absolutely horrified. I had to explain the dream, my dm eventually saw the funny side but dad and I never did even though the rose grave had been replaced by lawn years before and dd was clearly alive and well. It just felt too real.
