Vinted - am i really being unreasonable?

I had a thoroughly unpleasant interaction with a Vinted seller last night and wonder if I really am being unreasonable . . .

Bought a pair of Nike leggings for DD, advertised as an adult size 4 (which she needs for the length). When they turn up, they're a child's size large (so too short). I wouldn't have purchased them if they'd been advertised correctly.

I raise an issue, and flag the problem with the seller. I am then bombarded (and I wish I was exaggerating) with messages telling me I'm pathetic for wanting a refund on a cheap item, that I should have seen what I was buying (even though there was no photo of the label) and then sent actual threats. She then cancelled the order and seemingly I have to pay to return them to her! It isn't a huge sum of money at all, but Vinted are saying that I have to return the leggings, despite the fact I screenshotted her threatening language, and have sent proof the leggings weren't correctly listed.

At this point, it's the principle but does anyone have any advice on what to do? I'm very happy to return the item, but fail to see why it should be on me to pay for it (I'm aware I should probably just suck it up but it's really annoyed me).

Return it with a big cut in the crotch.

If I get an item I am unhappy with on Vinted I never bother to complain to the seller, it’s just not worth it. I just don’t leave feedback. Similarly if anyone moans about anything I have sent I just say to keep the item and I’ll refund them.

Not worth the hassle. On Vinted it’s always a bit of a gamble. I just re-list stuff I’m not happy with and give it a more honest description.

I know it’s not really the point of the thread but if you don’t leave feedback the bad seller gets an automatic 5 star review as long as the sale has completed..

I refuse to use Vinted because of their appalling customer service.
When I had an issue, every way I tried to complain I just got AI sending the same automated responses. It was absolutely infuriating even though it was only a small amount

Vinted has really gone downhill since I started buying and selling there about 2 years ago. I am getting more and more duds and having to return things more frequently. On top of it, there are more and more scams, where the seller is fake (you can tell by the random letters and numbers in the name and no reviews) and fakes, like fake bags. I even got stung once, with the seller then mocking me - what did you expect a designer bag for £60? That's not the point!! So yes, I never thought I'd be done with Vinted, but I am done.

Vinted are crap and rarely side with the buyer. After buying a skirt which was advertised as an 8, but when it arrived the label showed 12, I decided that I would always ask to see a photo of the sizing label. However, I recently bought a skirt in a brand and size I know fits me. I'm always a size 8 which is about 27 inches waist. I asked to see a photo of the sizing label which did show it as a uk size 8. The skirt arrived, and I kid you not, I thought I'd been sent a child's skirt by mistake. I measured the waist and it was 22 inches. 22 INCHES!! It was pretty obvious it had been altered but the seller failed to mention this. So now, I ask for the actual measurements...rather than a photo of the sizing label as so many people have things altered. 🙄 oh, and despite reporting it to Vinted, I didn't receive a refund!
