I JUST WANT A LEMON MERINGUE PIE

Why are they so hard to track down? I’ve been to Tesco, two Sainsbury’s, aldi, Waitrose, Morrisons and two M&S food halls. Nothing. Could have have 20 different kinds of apple pie though.

And yes I know I could make one, but I want to the supermarket overlords to cater to my whims. And I’m lazy.

To be fair, the supermarket ones tend to be pathetic in the meringue department. I was mightily dissapointed when I got one at Easter because I couldn't be bothered to make one. Will go back to making my own next time...

Ah damn now i want one! I'm the only one that eats it though so unless i can cut it into portions and freeze them i'm stuck 😭thats if i found one!

They have them in my Waitrose

The trick is to buy a lemon tart (the Sainsburys taste the difference one is lovely) and then make your own meringue. Saves the trouble of blind baking the base and zesting the lemons and you can put as much meringue on top as you like. No one can stop you.

I had a big slice of one on Saturday - our local bakery does it in a carton with a little mound of fresh whipped cream, fresh strawberry and half a flake. I ate it all and wondered if I should just try and make one - my mum made an excellent lemon meringue. Nothing beats it 🙂

Not exactly what you are after, but my mum does love a lemon meringue pie, so when I'm taking her out we stop of at cafe nero which does do slices of one....

Now I want one too sulk
