I JUST WANT A LEMON MERINGUE PIE

Why are they so hard to track down? I’ve been to Tesco, two Sainsbury’s, aldi, Waitrose, Morrisons and two M&S food halls. Nothing. Could have have 20 different kinds of apple pie though.

And yes I know I could make one, but I want to the supermarket overlords to cater to my whims. And I’m lazy.

We've had this one from Waitrose- it was the only place I could find one- my other half absolutely loves a lemon meringue pie!

malificent7 · 09/06/2025 12:42

They are lovely but a bit retro now. Could you make one?

malificent7 · 09/06/2025 12:43

Sorry just saw you didn't want to make one.

MadlyTrudyDeeply · 09/06/2025 12:44

The truth is a lemon meringue!

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 09/06/2025 12:46

I've gotten them out of the co-op before.

I LOVE lemon meringue pie, it's my favourite! I once ate an entire family sized pie to myself. I explain it away as pregnancy cravings, when in reality I was just being greedy 😆

SleepingisanArt · 09/06/2025 12:46

I had one from sainsbury's at the weekend...... Not bad! The best ones were always M&S but haven't seen one in there for years

nomas · 09/06/2025 12:50

I cannot abide lemon tarts or meringue. I love a lemon drizzle cake though.

FestiveDoofus · 09/06/2025 12:52

Morrisons do a lovely frozen LMP - have one sat at home!

DancingDangerously · 09/06/2025 12:53

Freezer section!

spicemaiden · 09/06/2025 12:55

Make one? Delia’s lemon meringue is divine

FoodAppropriation · 09/06/2025 12:58

Try ordering one from an individual baker.

The ones from Waitrose or Tesco are usually frozen anyway

LightCameraBitchSmile · 09/06/2025 12:58

I tried fridge and freezer in all these places 😩 the clientele around here must have poor taste so there’s no provision

Our Morries does individual ones in their cake/dessert area. I have to cose my eyes as I go past but then sometimes my eyelids don't work ....

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 09/06/2025 12:58

I don’t care how retro they are, I bloody love a lemon meringue pie

i know you don’t want to bake OP but a homemade one is so delicious! I like Jamie’s

I love a lm pie too! My mum used to make them, but not being a culinary genius, she used to make a packet one. Still delicious. At the patisserie my Dd works at, they make lemon and yuzu and lemon and passion fruit.

spikefaithbuffyangel · 09/06/2025 13:08

Aldi have lemon meringue gelato if that helps a craving!

Bollynicks · 09/06/2025 13:09

I had completely forgotten about lemon meringue pie. I so want one now. Also following this thread to keep the above recipes that I've said will make this weekend iwillneverendupmakingoneinmylufe

wheelygoodbum · 09/06/2025 13:10

Well now I want one too

IHateWasps · 09/06/2025 13:10

Lidl have a frozen lemon meringue pie.

leopardprint17 · 09/06/2025 13:11

Asda sell them, they are in the freezer though

Edit- just checked sainsburys, they also have frozen ones 😁

PITCHpink · 09/06/2025 13:12

Everything is cheesecake this that and the other now, oh with salted caramel everything too!

Take me back to the 80’s with LMP, prawn cocktail, suet puddings, yum yum

Dahlietta · 09/06/2025 13:13

Waitrose used to do a fresh one in their desserts section, but now they seem only to do a lemon tart, which is absolutely not the same thing.

Dartmoorcheffy · 09/06/2025 13:13

Lidl do a really nice one in the freezer section

saltinesandcoffeecups · 09/06/2025 13:14

Well shit… thanks @LightCameraBitchSmile now I want one… to be specific I want a lemon supreme pie but yeah my pie hookup restaurant closed and I’ve not seen one in the wild for going on 10 years.

I agree- I used to love the packet ones you could get in 80s when you added the lemon capsule to the egg etc etc
