Is it just mums on this site?

No.
Dad's too and people who don't have children.
This site covers every subject you could need or wish to discuss.

MrsTerryPratchett · 30/05/2025 01:03

Why do you ask?

Devilsmommy · 30/05/2025 01:35

I'd say mostly moms but dad's and child free too. Why?

JohnSt1 · 30/05/2025 01:37

I love AIBU, which isn't typically about parenthood.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 30/05/2025 01:38

Judging by some of the threads lately, I don't think we can rule out all manner of creatures and entities.

It should be called something else then.

I think it's just people regardless of if they are a parent or not. The parenting forum is just one part of the site.

I'm definitely not a mum but I have been posting here for years, because I love the drama and bat shittery 💅🍿.

Sadly, it’s mums and dads.

TheNightingalesStarling · 30/05/2025 18:12

There's a whole page called Dadsnet.

Its predominantly UK based women, many of whom are mothers. But there's also purposefully childfree women, grandmothers, those trying to conceive, Foster parents, kinship carers, those who haven't been able to.have children, fathers.. all sorts.

Octavia64 · 30/05/2025 18:13

For everyone then.

I can see why you say that but on the other side of the coin, I wouldn't have come here if it wasn't called Mumsnet. It means you get predominantly female points of view, which is unusual for internet sites. Definitely not just mums tho, everyone's here.
I have some vague recollection that this was a survey question recently, so probably means it'll be asked over and over again; you do get some people who do that, thinking the more times they ask a question/state a point of view, the more likely it is that everyone will finally agree with them!

Shouldn’t be called mumsnet

There’s a childfree part too so it covers everyone. I love that it’s not just mums

Yeah it’s good. But should be called something else

I think it’s bloody brilliant that the site is not just used by ‘mums’, and I am one.
I think you get a far broader and less insular sense of perspective because of the fact the site is used by everyone.

stayathomer · 30/05/2025 18:44

Yeah it’s good. But should be called something else
Ah I hope not, enough has changed with the world, I’ve been here 16 years and would hate a new name!
