Just for fun 🤩

Hello, I am 2, nearly 3. I know I am loved oodles by mummy and daddy because they tell me every five minutes. My parents are both teachers of big children who wear big clothes and shoes, some are grown up size 11 but I don’t know what size the boys are.
In the holidays when the Easter bunny was coming, mummy and daddy spent their time off decorating. I really liked the old wallpaper because it was bright and colourful. The new stuff isn’t to my liking if I’m honest, it’s plain, boring and my granny loves it. That’s how bad it is!
Yesterday morning whist my parents were getting ready for work, I thought I would use my bestest crayons to add some much needed colour to this awful decoration, obviously I did my art in an out of the way place to begin with until I got into my stride then when I felt my artistic juices really start to flow I went for it BIG! Disappointingly as I had stepped back to admire my work Daddy came in, swooped me up and said “time for nursery little princess”
As is usual Granny picked me up from nursery. I love granny, she’s wrinkly, and does odd things like sitting in the chair with her saggy eyes closed and mouth open and making funny noises but not always from her mouth!
Mummy says granny is doo lally tat and get this! Granny has a heart of pure gold so she’s a keeper. Wow, just wow. Anyway fast forward to the afternoon. I had persuaded granny to let me watch Bluey while she made a snack, when mummy comes in and daddy was “not too far behind” We had the usual conversation about what I had done today. I knew that I would have to go through it all again later with Daddy so I put my thumb in my mouth looked a bit weary and continued with the tv. Mummy and granny chatted away, daddy came in and asked what I had done today so I proudly led him to my art. Daddy’s face quite quickly became very poorly and shouty Daddy called Mummy to look. She pushed past granny who was looking a tad concerned. After only 5 seconds tops of admiring my colouring she got her waggy finger out and in a raised voice asked “what’s this!” then called me a “little vandal monster” and started talking non sense about hundreds of pounds down a drain?!
I’m deeply upset at this, especially as it is my best work yet and the hypocrisy of calling me names when “we only use kind words and hands are told me. AIBU?

I thought these died out on MN years ago...

You won't make it into MN classics love, that was about 15 years ago.

Exasperated24 · 02/05/2025 14:01

Good grief

Oh no OP, creativity seems to run in the family.

UnctuousUnicorns · 02/05/2025 14:21

Come again? 😕

UnctuousUnicorns · 02/05/2025 14:23

"Just for fun" three words to strike fear into the heart of any sane person.

TheBlackSheepbaaaa · 02/05/2025 14:24

Far too much cringe on here today.

DUsername · 02/05/2025 14:26

Oh dear oh dear.

Frrrout · 02/05/2025 14:32

I bet my left arm that this is a family that send out Christmas cards with a letter inside to give everyone they know a round up of their ‘adventures’ that year. Possibly with a posed family photo on the front wearing Santa hats.

Fucking shoot me now.

LetMeGoogleThat · 02/05/2025 14:38

Bloody hell, is it the weather bringing out the MN madness today!

Oh dear, I'd ask for your post to be removed, OP. It really isn't in the spirit of the site. 🙂

So someone writes a post that's not your taste. Just scroll on by. All these replies are just nasty & snarky.

MoominMai · 02/05/2025 15:16

Lighten up everyone! As OP said, it’s just for fun! I read it as a make believe thread for a MN equivalent for toddlers and personally found it quite fun and well written. If you don’t enjoy reading these types, then just click on to the next, why all the hate?!
