Are you enjoying the heat?

Had plans to drive three hours to our nearest beach but the dog has hurt his paw. Took this week off as AL to enjoy the weather. So just having some quiet time in the garden. Have set up my laptop to binge watch a Korean series I enjoy. I was assuming I would find 27c oppressive but it’s actually extremely pleasant. It’s been cool at night so this may be the first heatwave that I’ve lived.

Fuck no.
I hate it. Much prefer cold weather.

Yourinmyspot · 01/05/2025 12:58

I’m enjoying all the daylight and sunshine, just suffering a bit with fluid retention being on steroids. Bit hot at work in the afternoon as I have to wear a coat.

Rainbow1235 · 01/05/2025 12:58

Absolutely loving it . Sun makes everything so much better 😁

JoshLymanSwagger · 01/05/2025 12:59

@TheeNotoriousPIG Not sure I'd fit in a trough...

Sick of the lack of breeze. It was way too hot for me last night and DH was snuggled under the duvet 🥵

Roll on September yes, I know, "wishing your life away" whatever or I might just have to invest in air con 🥶

Topseyt123 · 01/05/2025 13:00

I'm finding the heat we are having at the moment just right. Lovely and warm, but not oppressively hot. Cool in the evening, overnight and in the morning so I can sleep quite well still.

It's currently 23⁰ here. I'm fine with that.

Bobbybobbins · 01/05/2025 13:00

Yes ☀️😎

Oh yes, all 15° of it today. 🌞 👍

Lucky bugger.
I'll swap ya for 27?
🍦🍻🕶 for 🥧☕🎃

I absolutely love it. There's plenty of places in the garden, both in the sun and the shade, so I can move about in and out of the sun as I fancy. I WFH on a laptop so can do that from outside. In the evenings I stay outside until it's dark and read for hours, then I'll move into our summer house for the last couple of hours until I go to bed, as there's lights in there, but it still feels like being outside.

We have a brilliant fan so sleeping isn't an issue, if anything I sleep better than normal as the fan is like white noise.

Sunshine makes me so, so happy.

AlwaysWantingIceLollies · 01/05/2025 13:08

Love the weather like this. I do a mixture of working early mornings or afternoons and today I was finished at 10.30! Straight out into the lovely sunshine. Makes me happy when the sun is shining. (I don't think I suit living in the UK with its miserable weather majority of the year)

MereNoelle · 01/05/2025 13:12

Loving it. Not too hot, cools down in the evenings to sleep… what’s not to like?

Nourishinghandcream · 01/05/2025 13:17

Hate the heat, am actively staying indoors as much as possible where it is lovely and cool.
Have not bothered going away in the MoHo this week as we want to be able to go for nice walks with Ddogs and it is currently too hot.
Looking forward to next week when we can enjoy a few (cooler) days walking along the coast.

This is not a recent thing, neither of us have ever been sun worshipers and far prefer Spring & Autumn to Summer.

HÆLTHEPAIN · 01/05/2025 13:18

Yes, but only because I’m sat inside with the air con on! 😂

Edited - though I might sit under the shade of a tree later in the garden.

I also work from home so spent my lunch hour in the garden! I’d love to work out there but I feel like I’d struggle to see my laptop properly… do you sit in the shade?

olderbutwiser · 01/05/2025 13:30

Love it love it love it

330ml · 01/05/2025 13:32

Perfect temperature. Not hot, just pleasantly warm.

Chipsahoy · 01/05/2025 13:36

Out “heat” ended yesterday. Highs of 22c. It’s not 15c and feeling quite lovely in a jumper and skirt, no tights today.
Scotland here. Love the weather here.

ROOTSTOCKHUMAN · 01/05/2025 13:37

its 23 C here, not too bad though I was hot last night

Bonjovispyjamas · 01/05/2025 13:37

I like it until I get home, a top floor, south facing flat is not comfortable 🥵

ginasevern · 01/05/2025 13:38

Bloody love it. I could live in this all the time. It's about 27c in Bristol today. The orgasmic joy of just slipping a dress and some sandals on instead of jumper, jeans, socks, boots - and leaving my coat at home! I think it's back to normal for the weekend though.

gingercat02 · 01/05/2025 13:38

Even though I'm at work I love it, but would like a bit of rain for the garden

MyLegoHair · 01/05/2025 13:38

I was doing ok until the 586th time schlepping up and down the garden with bowls of warm water for the paddling pool for my PSB... I thought I'd be able to relax in the shade for a bit but it's been 10 mins of constant "Mummy look at this" which has now become "I'm cooold" 🙄 It's not cold, you ungrateful child! Actually I might get in, cool me down and entertain DC, two birds with one stone...

loropianalover · 01/05/2025 13:40

I love the heat! My only issue is if I need to take public transport, so many people in Ireland don’t dress for the weather or wear deodorant and they STINK.

PassingStranger · 01/05/2025 13:42

A big fat yes.

My washing is also loving it
Dry in a few hours instead of on the radiator or hanging on a clothes horse

XxSideshowAuntSallyx · 01/05/2025 13:46

I love this weather, have been sat outside with my laptop with the cats sat next to me. Although garden is currently in the shade so they are okay.

But at the back of my mind I'm also really cautious with the cats, as my cat died last year from heat stroke (well it speeded other things up).

EasternStandard · 01/05/2025 13:46
