Husband- is this normal a joke?

Been on holiday with DH- there was a plug in the bathroom- one of those push in ones (you don’t take out ) and you flick it to release the water.

Every day DH would take the plug out - no idea why?? It was filthy - unsure why he did this but he left it every day.

Any way last day of holiday I asked who was doing it. No one said who it was. (obviously DH, kids are too young)

Anyway- that night I went to bed- and DH had put it in my eye mask - the dirty plug in my eye mask I wear every night. I asked why and he said it was funny. And was a joke and I couldn’t take a joke-

is this funny?

Neither the taking it out at all or the then putting in your eye mask is normal and the latter isn't in the least funny. Weird and unkind.

JoyousEagle · 18/04/2025 18:01

That’s such an odd thing to do. Does he normally do these kind of practical “jokes”?

skinnyoptionsonly · 18/04/2025 18:02

hes an abusive twat. Expect him to get worse now he’s shown his colours

Mwnci123 · 18/04/2025 18:02

I'd be seriously vexed about the eye mask.

Redpeach · 18/04/2025 18:04

I'd be asking him if he'd lost his butt plug

Stripeyanddotty · 18/04/2025 18:05

Not funny at all.

BobbyBiscuits · 18/04/2025 18:08

I can get that he might not being familiar with that type of plug, so maybe once is understandable.
But putting it in your eye mask is disgusting?! At least I guess it was obvious so you knew not to use the mask. But just imagine the horrendous infections you could get in your eyes or skin from having the bacteria from there over your face all night?!
He is gross and if there's a pattern of other stuff like this then you need to consider kicking him in the nuts!

pilates · 18/04/2025 18:09

What a weirdo - not funny in the slightest

Thanksforyourlackofthought · 18/04/2025 18:11

Put the toilet brush in his clothing drawer. I’m sure he’ll find it hysterical.

Drainplug · 18/04/2025 18:12

Yeah it’s really weird isn’t it. I just don’t know what to do with him . Not normal behaviour

clawmachine · 18/04/2025 18:13

Does he often treat you so disrespectfully?

JackieDaytonaLuckyBrews · 18/04/2025 18:14

That's so weird. It's not even remotely funny or jokey.

shamble · 18/04/2025 18:16

Has he had a knock to the head recently?! Does he dislike your eye mask?

blueleavesgreensky · 18/04/2025 18:17

Does he demonstrate other abnormal behaviours?

Pigeonqueen · 18/04/2025 18:18

That’s disgusting. And weird. He owes you a new eye mask!

Mickeychampionwhatgoodami · 18/04/2025 18:18

As pp said, eye infection, skin infection from the filthy plug
What an idiot..not even remotely funny.

Drainplug · 18/04/2025 18:21

I agree- he said I have no sense of humour and he had no malicious intent. I think it’s bizarre - what else intent was there

This is what people mean when they day we don't know how much men hate women... even the ones they marry, infact especially the ones they marry.

Is it like him to either play practical “jokes”, or to mock you and make out that you’re uptight or whatever? Or is this an odd one-off?

Darkclothes · 18/04/2025 18:22

Does he have very special needs??? Is you 'DH' actually 8 yrs old?

I cannot even fathom how any adult would think this was a joke! Putting something filthy near your eyes.

I agree with others- leave his toothbrush nestled inside the bristles of the toilet brush and watch how hilarious he finds it! 😕

AnotherHappyCamper · 18/04/2025 18:24

No it's absolutely horrible and disgusting and he's a twat.

There is a part of him that hates you.

FridayFeelingmidweek · 18/04/2025 18:25

How odd, unless you're 12. I guess this jeans you could return like with like - put his toothbrush down a drain or in the loo?

JackieDaytonaLuckyBrews · 18/04/2025 18:26

Exactly. It's nothing to do with having no sense of humour, it's just gross and not funny at all. It's not even funny to an outsider. I can't imagine him going home and telling his mates and them all laughing their heads off. They'd all just think he was odd.
He was getting some kind of weird kick out of you wearing that eye mask. Spite or rage or perviness. Something, but definitely not humour.

ZeldaFighter · 18/04/2025 18:28

Has he ever done anything like this before?

Gross and horrible to me

SpringIsSpringing25 · 18/04/2025 18:29

I'm not sure which is more disturbing?

Him doing it or you needing to ask if it's normal
