Starter, main, dessert and drink.

i’d go with bruschetta with mozzarella to start with, fish and chips for main, chocolate mousse for dessert and a spiced rum and coke to drink

OP posts:
Havingasmashingtime · 18/04/2025 17:13

Starter- tomato soup with a crusty baguette
main- A Christmas Dinner
desert- carrot & walnut cake
drink- large glass of white zinfandel

Toddlerteaplease · 18/04/2025 17:15

Steak and triple cooked chips. And selection of mini desserts as I wouldn’t be cake to choose just one

Hotafternoon · 18/04/2025 17:32

Smoked salmon
Roast lamb with all the veg etc.
Creme brulee (if I can manage it)

Coolasfeck · 18/04/2025 17:36

Starter - smoked salmon with cream cheese and chives.
Main - Singapore rice noodles with mixed beef chicken and prawn and chilli oil and curry sauce to add.
Desert - Victoria sponge cake with squirty fresh cream.
Drink - pint of Bollinger champagne.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 18/04/2025 17:38

I’d have creamy garlic mushrooms with some crusty bread to mop up the sauce

Then steak with chunky chips, mushrooms, sweetcorn and a nice sauce (tbc)

Then a café gourmand style dessert (no coconut or banana flavours) with tea not coffee!

Sloshed down with a nice glass of Malbec

Tagyoureit · 18/04/2025 17:38

Prawn cocktail with bread and butter
Steak with dauphinoise potatoes and tenderstem broccoli with peppercorn sauce
Lemon meringue
Nice bottle of red to drink

TheJoanCollins · 18/04/2025 17:43

My Mum’s beef bourg for main. Probably with potato dauphinois, or roasties + glazed carrots and peas.
Homemade apple crumble and Waitrose Madagascan custard for desert.
A cheese board. The strongest British cheddar available, something blue and a Comte. Fig chutney and bread.
Lots of red wine.

Edited to say, no starter. But if I had to have one, something mushroom based.

MissEloiseBridgerton · 18/04/2025 17:46

STARTER - these particular garlic creamy mussels with fresh bread we had in Mlini near Dubrovnik. Hands down best meal.we have ever eaten. With copias Pinot Grigio. In a thunderstorm. It was wonderful.

MAIN - a big Medium rare rib eye steak, triple cooked thinish chips, roast tomatoes, big field mushroom with loads of garlic butter, unlimited beer batter onion rings, roasted tenderstem broccoli, whisky peppercorn sauce on the side, large glass of Tempranillo. Yum.

DESSERT - Tiramisu

TheHorticulturalHussy · 18/04/2025 17:51

Excellent thread!
Bruschetta with baby plum tomatoes roasted with olive oil and thyme.
Fillet steak cut around 2 inches thick, rare, proper chips, onion and avocado salad
Creme brulé
A vat of Sancerre

ginasevern · 18/04/2025 18:06

Sphagetti vongole
Rib eye steak, medium rare, with a dressed green salad and jacket potato with lots of butter and soured cream.
For dessert - Zabaione
A bottle of very chilled Verdicchio and an espresso martini

Can I have a cheeseboard as well please? Yes, I am very greedy.

Jabberwok · 18/04/2025 18:10

Pizza. Homemade pepperoni. Lots of cheese, 3 or 4 different kinds. With lots of Thatchers cheddar valley cider (think florescent orange cloudy scrumpy). I'd die happy

Woahtherehoney · 18/04/2025 18:15

A baked Camembert with red onion chutney and lovely crusty baked bread.

A chicken and bacon caesar salad with sweet potato fries and aioli - the bacon has to be super crispy.

Tiramisu with lots of cream.

For drink a jug of beer 🤣 preferably a nice IPA.

Sminty2 · 18/04/2025 18:15

A slice of grilled cheese on crusty toast

Are you conflating Desert Island Discs with death row execution OP? 😄

RaspberryBeretxx · 18/04/2025 19:13

I'd go with smoked fish to start, maybe smoked salmon on sourdough roast.

Then a selection of Chinese food for main.

And for pudding a chocolate ganache or cheesecake of some sort 🤔.

I'd drink champagne throughout.

RabbitsRock · 18/04/2025 19:15

Do you mean before you’re rescued OP?

TooFancyNancy · 18/04/2025 19:15

Starter- charcuterie board (salami, prosciutto, sundried tomatoes, black olives etc)

Main- chicken Caesar salad (with extra dressing on the side) with a side of chunky chips.

Desert- passion fruit pavlova or a custard slice

Drink- huge ice cold Pepsi max with tons of ice

BCBird · 18/04/2025 19:22

That's what I was wondering! Last meal is a death row thing. Desert Island Discs you get one luxury to have.

therealmccoy1234 · 18/04/2025 19:29

Cheese & spinach dip with reeeaaaallly good crusty bread
Fillet steak, med rare, unlimited chips, ranch dressed lettuce
