To humbly brag that I completed a marathon yesterday?

It took me 7 hours 20 minutes, I’m sunburnt and blistered to fuck but so proud of myself. I always wanted to be able to say I’d done a marathon but didn’t want to actually do the work. But now I can!

I know some runners won’t see it as an achievement because it was so slow and I walked a lot of it, but fuck me it was tough. One of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

Great achievement, very well done! I’d never be able to do it - mostly because of my appalling level of personal fitness but also because I fucking hate running!

YANBU, that’s a huge achievement! As for the time, 7h 20m is a very long time to be on your feet. You should be exceptionally proud of yourself. Only a very small percentage of the population will ever do a marathon and you are part of that.

That's amazing, well done!! I did a half yesterday and I almost cried when I realised the finish line was further than it looked. No way could I have done it again.

I did London Marathon in 2014 and the training and commitment to finish it should never be underestimated.

It is one of my greatest achievements, and a challenge I set myself in the year that I turned 40. It is one of the most memorable days of my life.

the training was tough and a big time commitment and you will spend a lot of time knackered. But if you’re committed enough you can do it, even if you walk a lot of it.
