CO WORKER PEEING IN FRONT OF ME? WTF? This normal???

Iamthequeenoftheworld · 06/04/2025 18:48

so I am a cleaner. Me and this guy clean a restaurant nights/ early mornings.

its just me and him.

He recently started using the toilet, while we are working, peeing right in front of me. I just don’t get why he can’t close the door?

am I wrong for feeling uncomfortable?

My friend told me it’s no big deal and I’m making a big deal out of nothing.

If you are female then this is very, very far from normal. Tell him firmly ‘Malcolm, please shut the door. It’s not appropriate to do that in front of me’.

That could be construde as abuse!

Tell him to shut the door. If he won't, report him to your manager.

Pallisers · 06/04/2025 18:51

He is doing this deliberately - getting some sort of a rise from it. Tell him to close the fucking door of the bathroom.

Your friend has real issues with boundaries. I can only imagine the relationships she has had.

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 06/04/2025 18:51

That's disgusting. Tell him to shut the door or you will report him

AtrociousCircumstance · 06/04/2025 18:51

Not ok. Tell him to close the door.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 06/04/2025 18:52

This is not on.

DelphiniumBlue · 06/04/2025 18:53

It's a power play and sexual harassment. He's exposing himself to you deliberately.
Tell your manager, back it up with an email.

SwanOfThoseThings · 06/04/2025 18:53
Confused
latetothefisting · 06/04/2025 18:54

If he pulled his cock out in front of you in any other context he'd be committing a sexual offence -it doesn't magically become OK just because there's piss coming out of it!

Breambrune · 06/04/2025 19:20

@Iamthequeenoftheworld you actually need to tell him now this is NOT on and you will be reporting it if he carries on...i think he is testing your boundaries and his behaviour may escalate if you continue to ignore it...if you and he are alone i would be really careful. .

Iamthequeenoftheworld · 06/04/2025 19:20

My male friend said this is what guys do, it’s normal to pee in front of each other, he probably used to it and just didn’t realise or just sees you as “one of the guys”

Yeah it’s dark outside when we work, streets empty and it’s just him and I, no one around

thats what worries me

Breambrune · 06/04/2025 19:24

your male friend is talking out of his arse.....whatever men do in front of each other ( and having had some incidents in a unisex changing room that was previously single sex, i'm aware of how some men can see closing the door as optional!) it is not socially normal to pee in front of a unrelated woman!!!

ilovesooty · 06/04/2025 19:27

Of course it's not normal.

Usernamexyz1 · 06/04/2025 19:28

Does he pee in front of his mum? In front of his nan or in front of his sisters? What utter garbage.

Wigtopia · 06/04/2025 19:35

If I were in your position I would ask my manager to place me with someone else and explain why.

i’m so sorry you’re being made to feel uncomfortable in your place of work

This
totally
be careful of him
and report

Coughcoughcoughallthetime · 06/04/2025 19:40

Absolutely totally wrong.
Sexual harassment - exposing himself to you.
I would also be concerned about your friend who is trying to.persuade you this is normal acceptable behaviour because it's not.
I agree with pp that you should be speaking to your supervisor and requesting he is taken off the job because you shouldn't have to put up with this.

OhCalmTheFuckDownMargaret · 06/04/2025 19:40

When DH was at collage on a course he told me the female cleaner used to barge into the gents with her mop while he was mid pee at the urinal. 😳

rwalker · 06/04/2025 19:45

Be blunt tell him it’s not acceptable

IPM · 06/04/2025 19:46

As usual someone has started a thread about a completely unacceptable situation, and not once mentioned...

A) What you've said to him about it.

B) If you've said nothing, why you haven't?

Simple communication "Oi John, shut the door for goodness sake".

It’s completely normal happens all the time in service stations and shopping centres

female cleaners will just come in

TomatoSandwiches · 06/04/2025 19:49

No it's not normal, he's either doing a power play like a pp mentioned or seeing how far he can push your boundaries or where they are at from the start as a baseline.

Complain and start looking for a different job.
