so I am a cleaner. Me and this guy clean a restaurant nights/ early mornings.

its just me and him.

He recently started using the toilet, while we are working, peeing right in front of me. I just don’t get why he can’t close the door?

am I wrong for feeling uncomfortable?

My friend told me it’s no big deal and I’m making a big deal out of nothing.

Men do do this in front of one another. Totally unacceptable in front of a woman. I also would complain to your boss.

So I told him to close the door and he said “just don’t look if you don’t like it”…

since October 24, Employers have a duty to protect employees from sexual harassment - a bloke waving his willy around in public is definitely that - report the matter to HR or your line manager, and frame it as that.

HueyLouisAndDewey · 09/04/2025 22:30

That's grim. Tell him not to. He may be getting off on doing this.

My male friend said this is what guys do, it’s normal to pee in front of each other, he probably used to it and just didn’t realise or just sees you as “one of the guys”

Edited

Men don’t see it as normal to pee in front of each other.

We use urinals in a line, we avoid eye contact, we stand as far apart as we can - generally the first goes to the furthest urinal, the second takes the nearest urinal, the third in the middle etc

Many urinals have a form of mini divider between them to ‘aid separation’

Its normal for men to use urinals, but also normal to minimise exposure to each other and defiantly not normal to expose ourselves to women

That's also a possibility, but it's making you feel uncomfortable. And you have every right To tell him to stop .

Is he British? Then yes this is weird. If he is from another county it may be cultural for example in France its still common to have mixed toilets and have to walk past a man pissing in a urinal to get to the stalls which I always find quite grim.

Or he's doing it intentionally as he wants to upset you...

Its a sex offence in any other context I think.?
