Any Vinted sellers or Retail Staff?

Hello, looking to see a range on opinions here. I sell a fair amount of stuff on Vinted, not every day but it ticks over. I have a lot of stuff, sell for family etc.

Inpost is the holy grail, package it up, down to the locker job done Grin

However... not everyone uses Inpost so Yodel it is, the problem I have is the staff at the shop I post the yodel packages, they are local to me but I don't use the shop unless I'm sending yodel packages. At the beginning of the year it was so bad with the rolling eyes and attitude from the staff that I bought a printer so I could print my own labels, saving them the extra couple of minutes to print a label.

I'm still met with huffing when I go in with packages, which is no more than 3 at a time, twice a week, with the labels on the packaging which have never not scanned etc.

Vinted sellers - have you come across this?

Retail staff - is this the worst thing a customer can do to ruin your day?

My yodel shop guys are lovely, always have a laugh when in and I don’t usually shop there.

BeRoseSloth · 02/04/2025 19:25

Evri is so easy. Can you use that? You just print off the label at the terminal in the store, hand it in to the assistant who gives you a receipt. Job done.

TwistedWonder · 02/04/2025 19:28

No never and Ive bought and sold over 500 items on Vinted. The staff in both my Yodel and Evri drop off ships are very polite and chatty.

Your drop off shop has a staff attitude problem. It’s literally their job to deal with parcels.

FrogsLoveRain · 02/04/2025 19:28

I buy the odd newspaper, chocolate bar and lottery ticket when I post my yodel parcels. But more often than not I don't buy anything.

Never been made to feel bad. And they need to print the labels.

I always presumed the newsagent had a commission from yodel...

WinWhenTheyreSinging · 02/04/2025 19:30

I have everything but the InPost lockers switched off and unavailable now. The shops are too much like hard work.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:30

@BeRoseSloth so I can use Evri for EBay but for some reason not for Vinted, I have all the postage options ticked green on my Vinted profile but Evri is never an option 🤷🏼‍♀️

The yodel drop off place for me is uninterested but not to the point of eye rolling and being impolite. I guess they don’t get much profit for each parcel? @BeRoseSlothwith Vinted selling it’s the buyer who chooses the delivery method not the seller.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:31

@FrogsLoveRain interesting I wondered also if they got paid for the service. Also I do buy when I'm in not every time

You can deselect some delivery option in your posts

RandomUsernameHere · 02/04/2025 19:32

The guy who works in my local Yodel shop is lovely so I haven’t experienced this, but don’t feel bad about using the service they offer! The shop gets paid by Yodel, it’s not as if they are doing it for free.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:33

@Gizlotsmum of course I could do that but I still want to sell and yodel is some buyers only option.

OP posts:
Ollybob · 02/04/2025 19:33

I'd take off the yodel option in vinted settings or go to a different shop tbh.
I'm sure yodel pay per parcel but suspect it's only pennies.
The retailers have yodel etc in the hope that you will buy something whilst you're in there, they don't do it out of kindness, although either way they should still give good customer service.

UndermyShoeJoe · 02/04/2025 19:33

Our local is Evri and they are lovely. I mean they get 25p per parcel for just basically having a storage space and a printer plugged in while running their shop. Easy cash.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:34

@RandomUsernameHere so the shop does get paid by yodel?

OP posts:
UndermyShoeJoe · 02/04/2025 19:35

I’d imagine they get paid as otherwise they would all use one that does.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:35

@Ollybob - I don't want to take the option off then it limits sales. There is another shop further away that I could use also

OP posts:
UndermyShoeJoe · 02/04/2025 19:36

I actually divert a lot of my home parcels to save postage and get them, their 25p lol

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:37

@UndermyShoeJoe not sure what you mean?

OP posts:
ARealitycheck · 02/04/2025 19:38

A friend owns a small village shop and takes yodel packages. Yes they do get a small renumeration, but it barely covers the printer or labels which they did have to pay for. He put it in to attract custom for his shop, Eye rolling is unreasonable, but I sort of can understand it if you never buy anything and are in regularly.

UndermyShoeJoe · 02/04/2025 19:38

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:37

@UndermyShoeJoe not sure what you mean?

With Evri they pay the shop 25p per parcel shipped from or collected from the shop.

So yodel must pay as otherwise people would just team with Evri.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:41

@ARealitycheck - I bought my own printer so that they didn't have to print labels, they have to scan and give me a receipt. I do buy occasionally but not every time.

I appreciate that, I think when I spoke to him he said it was something like 15p per parcel before tax, so equated to 12p ish. The time to accept, store and deal with the courier wasn't particularly profitable.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 19:48

@ARealitycheck - thank you that's interesting, I suppose they offer the service with the hope that they will get customers who wouldn't normally shop there. As I said I occasionally do buy not every time as it's very expensive...

I have this with both Yodel shops near me, it was so bad with one that I send DH now as the chap was so rude to female customers. The nearest one has a list of times on the door that they won't accept parcels between due to a nearby school and the shop traffic at drop off/pick up. Never had a problem with the Evri drop off which is in our local post office but always have an issue with Yodel, I have wondered why they continue to offer the service if it's such a hassle!

Once I took a parcel and the man scanned the label then tried to charge me £3. I gave a confused look and said it was prepaid and he got shirty and said "just a joke love". As I was walking out he did the same to the lady behind me, so I often think some did fall for that and hand over money. Another time the other store told me that Yodell had gone out of business that day and wouldn't accept my parcel. He told me to "watch the bloody news!" I really cringe when I get a label from Yodel on my Vinted items.

Ryeman · 02/04/2025 19:48

I refuse to use one local shop for Evri parcels as they’re rude and ignorant. I use the shop near school instead. That one and the yodel shop are always helpful, but I do try to buy stuff there as well.
