Any Vinted sellers or Retail Staff?

Hello, looking to see a range on opinions here. I sell a fair amount of stuff on Vinted, not every day but it ticks over. I have a lot of stuff, sell for family etc.

Inpost is the holy grail, package it up, down to the locker job done Grin

However... not everyone uses Inpost so Yodel it is, the problem I have is the staff at the shop I post the yodel packages, they are local to me but I don't use the shop unless I'm sending yodel packages. At the beginning of the year it was so bad with the rolling eyes and attitude from the staff that I bought a printer so I could print my own labels, saving them the extra couple of minutes to print a label.

I'm still met with huffing when I go in with packages, which is no more than 3 at a time, twice a week, with the labels on the packaging which have never not scanned etc.

Vinted sellers - have you come across this?

Retail staff - is this the worst thing a customer can do to ruin your day?

@AustenHeroine it's a wonder why they behave that way and why they offer the service... the only male in the shop that I go to who I think is the owner is actually ok it's unfortunately the female staff working there that have an issue with taking parcels

@Ryeman - do you buy every time you post parcels? I do but not twice a week when I go.

Luckily our Yodel and Inpost are the same shop and very nice indeed, I do try and buy something when I am in there thus spending my entire profits at times! There have been previous threads on this subject and some people have had very unpleasant interactions when dropping off parcels, you are not alone. Our Evri one isn't the best, fortunately my DC are always in there buying sweets so he is marginally more pleasant to me than other people.

TwistedWonder · 02/04/2025 20:07

I’ve never bought a thing in the yodel shop and they’re nice as pie to me.

I do sometimes buy in the Evri drop off as that’s an offy 🤣

Workingonthehighway · 02/04/2025 20:08

Either ignore them what do you care if they are rude 🤷 or challenge them. I absolutely would not go out of my way to use another shop or buy stuff I dont need to placate rude fuckers.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 20:10

@TwistedWonder love that 😆

@Workingonthehighway totally agree, and I won't change what I'm doing just trying to gauge what's happening elsewhere to me.

I only offer Inpost as I can do without the additional queuing and stressful human interactions involved with sending in-store. One of my New Year's resolutions was to be kind to myself and cut out unnecessary stresses after suffering burn-out last year. It's the same reason I hang up on spam callers or anyone else I don't want to talk to on the phone as soon as I work out who they are - it's important to conserve mental energy where possible and cutting down on negative, unnecessary interactions is one way to do it.

No, not at all. But I buy my Dad’s treats (wine and cigars) in there each week so not a token spend. The other shop I use less but my son chooses sweets in there after school occasionally.

JollyHostess101 · 02/04/2025 20:42

Our nearest one is vile-so much so I’ve turned off yodel on vinted and won’t shop there anymore whatsoever after the way he spoke to me as I had the audacity to want to drop off 2 parcels and hadn’t labelled them….. spoiler alert I needed him to print off the vinted label!!

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 21:03

@JollyHostess101 this is what I don't get they offer the service!!!

My Yodel shop is our village newsagent. Never had a problem with him at all. In fact he says that being a parcel shop has saved his business.

I presumed they didn’t get a lot of money for it but that’s not my fault! I’ve worked in a customer facing role at the airport for 18 years son have a pretty thick skin so for him to upset took a lot!!

the other yodel shop is much nicer so think this blokes just an idiot but it’s a bit of a faff to get to so I don’t bother now!

That’s what our local says about Evri. More people come In, some buy stuff some don’t but they get paid for holding a few parcels

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 02/04/2025 22:07

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads good to hear, I wonder if it's because I live in a large town maybe small village places do get more business... absolute minefield but good to see what's happening over the country.

Surely tho if you bought something in the shop every time you went in to post a parcel that would soon eat into your profit ? Especially if you’ve sold something for 2 quid and you’ve spent a quid on a chocolate every time .

They obviously want you to feel guilty . Just smile and post your parcel . They are offering the service .

Doggymummar · 02/04/2025 22:19

I only offer evri on Vinted, once I was asked for royal mail but I directed them to my eBay store where I offer Royal Mail. Just do what's convenient for you.

DaisyDukesAuntie · 02/04/2025 22:22

Hi I sell a lot on Vinted and when I started I didn’t realise in the settings, you could deselect postage options for buyers. For me, an inpost locker is most convenient, whereas my nearest Evri drop off is miles away. You could remove this option from the list?
