Posting here for traffic. Whether it’s a seaside town that you go to currently or went to as a child, I want to get to know! Tell me why you like it and what you done there - I want to hear all of your stories!

Newspaper article?

MidnightMillie · 20/03/2025 16:59

GO?

I'm clutching my pearls at the lack of manners here 😁

Xiaoxiong · 20/03/2025 16:59

You first OP!

Also, YABU to post without explaining why you want to know. Are you planning a seaside holiday? Working in regenerating dying seaside towns? Holiday park manager? Journo?

ForTealBee · 20/03/2025 17:00

Torbay. It’s beautiful

Gundogday · 20/03/2025 17:01

Kent coast - lots of beautiful beaches, from shingle to sand. Love exploring them.

And yet people will dutifully trot along and answer.

I'm sorry @thecherryfox but your tone of voice is a bit "off"...?!

Why on earth start a post (in the wrong forum, I hasten to add) without sharing why you want to know, or worse, which YOUR favourite location is?

I'll go first then seeing as you're so eager

Jaywick, Essex
Morecambe, Lancashire
Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire

I grew up visiting different seaside towns each year as a child, I have so many fond memories. I love hearing people speak about their lives knowing we all have different experiences and memories and I just thought it was a niche prompt to rattle someone’s memory! I guess I like hearing people’s stories :)

I really dislike the 'go' in that sentence.

As if we're all here clamouring to give you our tuppence worth.

This is exactly what Google Maps is for.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 20/03/2025 17:04

I'm not sharing mine as it's very wild and beautiful and I don't want to publicise it.

Why aren't you sharing yours OP?

Riversof0tter5 · 20/03/2025 17:04

you frighten me

redcord · 20/03/2025 17:04

I suppose it makes a change from 'Discuss!'

CheshireDing · 20/03/2025 17:05

Go or Discuss, both rude !

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 20/03/2025 17:06

Sorry the “go!” and lack of your own favourite resort has put me off and can’t be remedied by making something up later

WheresYourSnickers · 20/03/2025 17:07
go go go GIF

Go!

IHaveDefectedToTeamDog · 20/03/2025 17:09

No, you go! I'm off down the beach.

TianasBayou · 20/03/2025 17:17

YABU

and no I’m not going to share unless you do (and say please)

Mansionscoldandgrey · 20/03/2025 17:18

STOP!

Hold on! I'll come with.

I've got money for ice cream. 😉

Crispynoodle · 20/03/2025 17:22

Portrush which according to the Times is in the top 11 postcodes to move to. Blue flag beaches are lush and it’s only 7 miles away

Azureshores · 20/03/2025 17:28

Oh leave the OP alone fgs.

Mine is St Ives OP, but don't tell anyone as it's always too crowded in summer. It's stunning. Cardigan Bay in north wales too can be stunning on a nice day (bit bleak in winter though). Spent many a happy summer in abersoch.

Is the person who said Jaywick and Morecambe being sarcastic btw? 🙈

Don't tell anyone about St Ives?

I don't want to be that poster, but I fear the secret about St Ives may already be out 😑

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 20/03/2025 17:40

South of France is nice.

Yes it was an attempt at humour - it is very popular.

MrsMoastyToasty · 20/03/2025 18:05

Severn Beach. (It's not actually a beach, just estuary mud).
Beach, a small village outside Bath.
