Posting here for traffic. Whether it’s a seaside town that you go to currently or went to as a child, I want to get to know! Tell me why you like it and what you done there - I want to hear all of your stories!

we always go to Clarach Bay by Borth. The park we go there if you want has all a family would need such as a club ice cream parlor fun fair the lot but we just enjoy the fab beach it leads from the park with no traffic so it is safe for children. The park is owned by a family and has had a lot of money invested. The caravans owned by them are really good prices or like us, you can rent privately. Though it's a quiet area there are quite a few things to do and we enjoy it at all times of the year

The beach at St Aygulf in France. But closer to home, anywhere on the Gower.

I'm not telling anyone about my top few, no way.

But I like Scarborough quite a lot.

I grew up visiting different seaside towns each year as a child, I have so many fond memories. I love hearing people speak about their lives knowing we all have different experiences and memories and I just thought it was a niche prompt to rattle someone’s memory! I guess I like hearing people’s stories :)

And yet, you haven't shared a single one of them.

If you’re just after a general discussion, why are you ‘posting here for traffic’ in AIBU? You’re not contributing to the conversation. Your posting style is quite aggressive.

can you understand why your thread isn’t flowing well?

UndermyShoeJoe · 20/03/2025 18:33

Filey, spent my childhood holidays there, it's my happy place, not full of amusement arcades or commercialised, it's still the same it was when I was a child.

Are you AI? I appreciate your attempt to interact. Normally an imperative form like Go would be used by a P.E. teacher or another authority figure. On a forum like Mumsnet, the tone can be friendlier and more equal.
If you are AI, I hope you evolve to enjoy the beach one day. Although I don't like sand.
My favourite locations involve care for the environment and free access for local communities.
Don't be discouraged by the sarcasm pf some users and I'm sorry I was frightened of you. I have enjoyed coral sand beaches in warm climates, but my favourite beaches are in Ireland. The air is more refreshing. Hope this helps.

I can comment well having lived all over London and Brighton too. Can confirm Worthing is a great place if you want:
-A lovely quiet beach-
Beautiful countryside and walking nearby-
Friendly community, quite diverse and queer friendly
-Very good cafes restaurants pubs and bars (both traditional and also natural wines bars and small plates etc, craft breweries for a bit of pizazz)
-Two great cinemas and theatres
-Good schools
-Leafy parks
-Decent town centre with walkable shops
-Three train stations(!) and an easy enough commute straight to Victoria/East Croydon/Clapham
-Decent parking (especially compared to Brighton)
-And affordable homes! I bought my three bedroom house in a good area for only 30k more than my one bedroom flat in Brighton-For us it's been a no brainer and we love it, we're in our 30s and lots of our friends are following suit.
-Best areas: Check it out in person. Personally we're near the station on a leafy nice street, Tarring (West) is also desirable. But the best way to ascertain is to go and walk around
