Kids. Look at the spelling.

Smokeyblueblack · 17/03/2025 11:22

Blimey your DH must be a wimp if he is freaking out over a silly bit of graffiti.

inquisitivemind · 17/03/2025 11:24

I’d be more annoyed by the spelling tbh

Exactly. OP, I don’t think you need to be imagining yourself on the Uncanny podcast with Danny Robbins saying ‘One of our most chilling investigations ever — ‘The PostBox Ghost…’

ohcrikeynotagain · 17/03/2025 11:25

Rattling post box flap? = Joke?

Shamrocker · 17/03/2025 11:26

It's a joke.

Not sure why people have jumped to 'kids' though, just because the spelling is poor.

Lots of adults aren't good at spelling for many reasons.

MaryBeardsShoes · 17/03/2025 11:27

Yeah it’s kids. Kid ghosts.

Well, it’s a child’s prank, or an adult being mildly tragic, I suppose.

Or an adult just having a laugh 🤷‍♂️

movingtoreading · 17/03/2025 11:38

it was rattling 🤣

It’s definitely a kids handwriting, given how it’s joined. At a guess I’d say year 4 or 5 age child.

Really? That’s a bit tragic.

TheNinthLock · 17/03/2025 11:47

Definitely a child playing a prank. Both the spelling mistake and the style of handwriting (especially the way the letters are joined) points to this being a primary school child.

Magnastorm · 17/03/2025 11:49

It's probably a ghost. It's really hard to write as a ghost so that explains the poor spelling and handwriting.

Annascaul · 17/03/2025 11:50

Your husband is freaking out? 🙄

Depends on your sense of humour really.

Some people will laugh, others won't.

Not sure 'tragic' comes into it given how senses of humour vary amongst people.

Should've got a ghostwriter then 😁

Chuchoter · 17/03/2025 11:58

If a ghost was up to no good why would he or she need to warn you?

They could be having a merry old time moving stuff around so that you and your husband accuse each other and start quarrelling whilst the ghost sits back and watches with their ghost popcorn!

lowlight · 17/03/2025 12:05

Probably been put there as decoration for halloween . So when kids knock on the door (using the letterbox flap) they see the message!

nodramaplz · 17/03/2025 12:11

@IggyAce
what 4/5 year old do u know that writes joined up?

more like 8/9+

Velmy · 17/03/2025 12:27

What else would it be but a joke?

We're all aware that ghosts aren't real, right?

The post says Year 4-5. So aged 8-10ish

Doggymummar · 17/03/2025 12:31

Surely the survey would have picked up a ghost?

I'm joking! And they would have had to declare it in the forms. I bet it was written when it was built it's just a bit of fun.

MemorableTrenchcoat · 17/03/2025 12:31

Your husband is frightened of ghosts? What a sap.

Isthiswhatmenthink · 17/03/2025 12:32

I think its a joke but husband is freaking out

Your husband is scared of something a kid wrote in biro, about something that doesn’t exist, on a door? Jesus Christ.
