Quick poll on driving lesson costs

What do you pay in the south/south east?
Availability round here seems limited, have been quoted £40-45ph but not got much to compare it with.

£80 for two hours, Scotland

£80 for a 2 hour lesson in the Midlands town I'm in.

£36 p/h here (Midlands) or £340 for 10 - but I get the impression he’s about to put the prices up.

£34 for an hour in south London.

£60 for an hour and a half here in the Northwest. Had to buy 15 hours at a time until they were ready for their test.

£75 for two hours in the south east. Thank goodness they've passed now!

Midlands, £36 an hour 😭 it amazing how fast an hour goes when you paying that price. Can't afford to do 2 hours.

Get some lessons with a family member. Do a crash course.

Once you've ring round a few you'll get a feeling for the costs, I don't live in the SE so not relevant what they cost here but I found there wasn't much difference between instructors which was what I'd expected. Market forces work pretty well

You aren't thinking of going to a different area to save money are you?

Just passed my test. £80 for 2 hours south coast.

£40/hour in Gloucestershire, and honestly shopping around isn’t an option here, there is almost zero availability, so much demand that waiting lists are closed- I had to go with the first instructor with space and it took 18 months to find one!

Good grief, prices have increased. I'm starting ds2 soon, but ds1 was £30.

My daughter pays £30 an hour.
