Trump seems to be captured and in awe of Putin and is spouting what Russia has previously said. Putin and Trump are a loved up but odd Bromance.

His he unable to have independent thoughts or ideas?

Previously, America was fully behind Ukraine. A mere few months and Trump is in love with Putin and sounds like his puppet. Putin has the biggest smile.

Guess it's only me that thinks Trump is Putins puppet. He seems to be spouting what Putins bots have been sharing for a while. I think Trump has swallowed the same bot message.

I don’t believe Putin would have invaded Ukraine had Trump still been in power. Obviously just an opinion but they are as power hungry as each other.

I don't think puppet necessarily, but he is definitely aiming to appease him beyond for the reasons he's saying, just not 100% sure why. He's crafted a narrative that anyone against his negotiations wants the war to continue, whilst of course people that don't believe everything they read on social media know this not to be true, scarily loads believe it and reality isn't required.

Trump is being controlled by the people who fixed elections for him. Putin fixed the last one and he's actually publicly said that Musk rigged this election for him. They both have him over a barrel because they have things to blackmail him with.

I watched the news with my mouth open when he blamed Ukraine for the war.

I think it’s more the case that Trump is attracted to “power”. He sees Putin as a “strong leader” and wants to be in that gang. He couldn’t give a toss about what is/is not moral, it’s all about the power and the money.

There’s no evidence that the Russian “pee pee tapes” ever existed (listen to the BBC Sounds series The Coming Storm on this) so I don’t believe there is any “kompromat” as such out there.

I am not digressing, but my hazy thoughts this morning are: if Europe (sort of) stood up against Russia to support the Ukraine, are we committed enough to stand against Russia and the US to support the Ukraine? I ask this with two sons in their early twenties and sense of the return to the horrific politics of the Twentieth century.
