Repeat dog fouling offenders

Shesnotveryself · 14/02/2025 09:02

Should have all animals removed from their ownership after 2 fines or witness/evidence (e.g. ring doorbell)

I'm so SICK of treading or rolling the pram through dog poo. It's disgusting. Went to an NT last weekend and I didn't even make it back from the parking machine before I'd stood in one. Don't get me started on streets around where I live.

Surely somewhere in the world has cracked how to stop these disgusting dog owners?

It's disgusting.

If I was in charge, anyone responsible for dog shit would have to eat it.

Our road leads to a park so we have tonnes of it.

Newbie8918 · 14/02/2025 13:07

Totally agree. I'm a dog owner and I carry bags, wipes and a water bottle.

A few weeks ago, I'd changed walking bags and missed the poo bags. My dog poo'd and I had nothing. I actually knocked on the nearest door to ask for a plastic bag. The resident couldn't thank me enough.

It's not everyone I promise but as a regular walker, I see it too often. Something certainly needs to be done!

I realise it's not everyone. I just think it needs harsher penalties, particularly for repeat offenders.

It's discussed a lot because it's making people's lives a bloody misery 🤷🏻‍♀️

A tapered bung - for the owner!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 14/02/2025 16:03

We have loads of dog poo on our road but I have never actually seen anyone not pick it up. Therefore I'm assuming it only gets left when there's no one around and these people do carry bags for if/when there's people about. How they could possibly fine people for leaving it is a whole other issue though, I would happily have my dog dna tested and licenced but to get everyone enrolled with that would take forever and a lot of resources.

UndermyShoeJoe · 14/02/2025 16:05

Should have a load of shit dumped on their doorsteps as well tbh.

Same as anyone who litters. Dump a ton of waste on their doorsteps. Wankers.

Drcake · 14/02/2025 16:08

I agree, people should need to have a licence and then a dog DNA test as part of the licensing of it. It would stop the majority of it overnight.
Also need to stop with every shop / cafe / restaurant welcoming dogs. It’s gross, I don’t want random barking making me jump out my skin, a dog rushing over whilst the owner says ‘oh their harmless / they love kids’ or sitting in dog fur when I’m paying for food or drink, it’s grim.

cruisetipz · 14/02/2025 16:10

Always one road by mine absolutely full of it on the same corner, I know it's the same dog and therefore the same owner letting it shit there thinking no one can see him.
I feel like the fucking poo police, always saying to the kids "watch the poo" "look out for dog poo" having my eyes everywhere all the time.

Daisydoesnt · 14/02/2025 16:19

My “pet” theory is some of the time it’s older dogs that just crap as they walk along: their owners don’t even realise they’ve done it. But I do also think there are some vile lazy buggers that don’t pick up.

mumto2teenagers · 14/02/2025 16:24

As a dog owner who always picks up my dogs poo I agree it is disgusting to just leave it.

However, where would you plan on putting the dogs that are removed from their owners? Dog rescues are fuller than ever following the amount of irresponsible people who bought dogs during lockdown without considering whether they really wanted a dog long term

ScholesPanda · 14/02/2025 16:29

Where would the removed dogs go? Off to be put to sleep?

vodkaredbullgirl · 14/02/2025 17:53

Same shit different day.

I have an older dog, and I know when she poos as she slows down and I can feel her do so on her lead.
This is why I never understood how anyone is leaving poo on pavements. The people leaving it know it is there.

Wherever neglected dogs are taken, I assume to be removed. Dog fouling should be treated as neglect, the same way not feeding a dog would be.

It is not neglect. A dog not fed is going to suffer. A dog that poos, and owners leaves it, is not getting hurt in anyway.
And dogs that are seized always suffer. The kennels they go to are grim,

That's the owners problem. Not mine, I'm not pretending to be nice, if an owner doesn't adequately care for their dog then they don't deserve a pet. If you let a child or baby shit everywhere it would be considered neglect. I've also been to plenty of house viewings where dog owners also use their back gardens as a massive toilet. Vile, and there's no excuse.

I really struggle to understand why people who don't want to read what they consider to be repeat content, then take time out of their day to READ it and make absolutely pointless comments like this. You can just scroll past and leave me to talk about dog shit with strangers on the internet. AFAIK, no other thread I searched for previously offered the solution of removing the animal, that's why I've asked.
