Repeat dog fouling offenders

Should have all animals removed from their ownership after 2 fines or witness/evidence (e.g. ring doorbell)

I'm so SICK of treading or rolling the pram through dog poo. It's disgusting. Went to an NT last weekend and I didn't even make it back from the parking machine before I'd stood in one. Don't get me started on streets around where I live.

Surely somewhere in the world has cracked how to stop these disgusting dog owners?

I think you're focusing on the wrong bit. If they genuinely cared for their dog and understood the consequences, they wouldn't allow their dog to foul and wouldn't risk it. It's a punishment that highlights how irresponsible the owner really is, and that they aren't fit to care for an animal. Yes that impacts the animal, but hopefully for the better when they're adopted by someone who does care

I shout at people who don’t pick up, telling them they are disgusting and shouldn’t be allowed to have a dog, and that they are giving us responsible owners a bad name, and threatened to take their photo and post it on our local Facebook page if they leave it again - and have also, on occasion picked up abandoned shit if my dog has also done their business nearby…

Agree! People who automatically side with "but oh the poor dogs will go to kennels!" Are missing the bigger picture.

I think lockdown really didn't help as loads of people got dogs solely for their benefit... THEY'RE lonely, THEY need a reason to get out the house, THEY need love. And it's created a load of selfish owners who don't acknowledge just how much of a responsibility it is to own one, and it's not just about what the dog can do for them.

Also my goal isn't to have loads of dogs in kennels. There are obviously terrible dog owners who will offend and get more dogs regardless of the consequences. But they're a minority. And I think that there's this middle ground of lazy people who actually DO care, but see others offending and just think well I won't bother either. And its a harsher consequence that will make them change. Especially if they have to go through the shame of explaining where their dog has gone.

The goal is to STOP the fouling, not punish more people and it needs to be something that matters for people to listen
