To deliberately plan a really boring weekend

This weekend

It’s freezing, we’re tired. I’ve done the big shop today, lots of slow cooker foods and curry planned. We’ve got lots of wood for the fire, I may just stay in pjs all weekend and only leave to walk the dog in the woods nearby.
Dd has made a den that’s taking up half the house and her neighbour pals will be in and out most of the weekend
Anyone love a very lazy weekend or would you be bored?

Weekend plans for a cold January weekend?

Most weekends my day revolves around walking the dog and reading. I've never considered it boring!

Same here, maybe a bit of baking or cooking as well, if I feel like it. I enjoy my peaceful weekends, especially if it's been a hectic week.

Hope you enjoy your weekend @Itsnowjanuarythethousandth , it sounds lovely to me.

That doesn’t sound like a boring weekend, just quiet one.

Oblomov25 · 18/01/2025 09:53

Sounds lovely. We regularly having nothing to do. It's nice.

It doesn't sound boring at all.

@ShadowsOfTheDays do you not enjoy being at home?

I love to travel & we have a lovely circle of friends & we're v sociable. But we also love being at home & just shutting everything else out. I need a balance of crazy busy on the road weekends & others where we have a v slow pace.

Not hugely. It's fine to a point, but I hate a weekend where there's nothing at all planned. I hate to go from work on Friday to work on Monday with nothing in between.

It feels like such a waste.

Fuck. I sound like my mother.

Don’t get this frantic having to “do” stuff especially in the depths of winter after a big spend December. Would imagine most people doing similar I am but with more exercise and walking to pub this evening to meet friends .

@ShadowsOfTheDays I understand where you're coming from but what I've learnt makes a difference for me is to mentally reframe that from 'nothing in between' Friday & Monday to a position of 'i have everything i need & want at home & I am choosing to enjoy it all' & also sort of considering it like a rural getaway type weekend as opposed to being 'trapped' in my house

We have a very cozy house & i love to be here so that helps too.

I love to have a whole weekend of no commitments & my books waiting for me

Sounds great. I'm doing the same today, but work tomorrow🙄
