Can someone recommend me a car for 6k or less?

Posting here as we don't have the car topic anymore.

I want to sell my current car (Audi A5). The car is worth roughly 6-7k and I plan to use the money to pay for my next car. I don't want to get finance or a loan.

I do like the MINIs but not sure if they're reliable, anyone know? Or is there a particular brand/model you'd recommend?

TIA

We've got a Séat Leon and it's brilliant, it's the most reliable car we've had and I'd highly recommend looking at them. There's all sorts of engine and spec options too. It's basically a VW Golf but better spec and nicer looking imo. In 6 years all its needed is general wear and tear stuff like tires and brake pads, and one new suspension spring which was about £60. Ours is a 2017 2.0 Diesel on 94k miles. It's pretty quick, £30 road tax and very good on diesel, it eeems to do 55-60mpg constantly. Anything else around that age from the VW group is good. Japanese car brands are also pretty good. Toyota are also very reliable, my dad always had them as company cars until he retired recently. and we used to have a Mazda 2, but neither brand feel as solidly built as anything from the VW group, in my opinion.

I got a Hyundai I10 2014 with 8k on the clock for £8k.

Recently voted best small car, incredibly reliable. Highly recommend the Hyundai I10.

You need to go and look, feel and try at a dealership. I was considering the Aygo but the boot is quite small and it felt a bit cheap inside.
