I have lost my mooncup (honestly cannot find it, think it must have fallen into the bin) and was considering asking if anyone had one they no longer want.
I would be happy to sterilise and use a second hand one but does this make me a freak ?
AIBU to consider this ?

how much do they cost to buy?

egypt · 04/05/2008 07:48

thought you meant you'd lost it up there! then wondered how on earth it managed to fall out of you into the bein

methinks you should just buy new - surely....

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 04/05/2008 07:49

ewwwwwwwwwwwww

saadia · 04/05/2008 07:50

Not being unreasonable, just a bit strange I think.

asteptoofar · 04/05/2008 07:51

They are about £18.
I am a bit of a mad tree hugger type so wondered if this was taking the recycling thing too far.

I kept said lost mooncup on a shelf above the bin hence the 'lost in the bin' theory.

I wouldn't do it personally but I don't think its that strange...

misscathcart · 04/05/2008 07:54

would you use a second hand vibrator tho?

asteptoofar · 04/05/2008 07:56

no, would not use a vibrator at all as plastic just does not do it for me !

I guess when you have a smear though the speculum has been recycled !

OP posts:
misscathcart · 04/05/2008 08:24

true! and its not as though you could catch any sti's this way...
theorectically i don't see a problem with it but some are more squeemish than others so its a matter of personal taste.

2GIRLS · 05/05/2008 01:09

What's a mooncup?!!

misscathcart · 05/05/2008 01:15

oh I love hearing that!
Its a cup type thing that you use to catch the flow of your period instaed of a tampon. You empty it out at regular intervals instaed if cluttering up the palnet with dispoasable sanitary stuff

misscathcart · 05/05/2008 01:16

scuse the spelling, i've had wine!

readytoswiggin · 05/05/2008 01:23

personally, I don't think I'd have a prob but I would have to steralise it throughly.

Have only had about 6 periods in the last 5 years so won't be getting on just yet

2GIRLS · 05/05/2008 01:26

Oh I see! How do you wear it? Does it go inside you?

2girls - yes it does!

jasper · 05/05/2008 01:37

good on you I say.

I hope you find someone who can give you another. I have always thought they were extortionately priced.

RainyWednesday · 05/05/2008 20:01

Oh my god - please take mine! I hate the damn thing, have only used it for about two months but feel too guilty about throwing it away and I didn't think anyone would want it. IIRC it's the smaller size, if that's any good to you!

readytoswiggin · 05/05/2008 20:04

That's a shame! I'd have it from you like a shot, but looking on the site I'd need the larger one.

FrannyandZooey · 05/05/2008 20:04

why not? good for you

Cappuccino · 05/05/2008 20:06

i have a bigger one you can have

ButterflyBessie · 05/05/2008 20:08

Can't see why not, probably wouldn't make it public knowledge

Where on earth could you buy a second hand one from though???

ButterflyBessie · 05/05/2008 20:08

Ah, Cappucino, you have just answered my question

readytoswiggin · 05/05/2008 20:15

please!!!

no rush, as I don't expect they'll return while I'm still feeding this wee one - another reason for bf imo
