To think Lee Anderson is seen as fair game ?

The ‘Somme’ memes and quotes have been doing the rounds in social media and yes they have raised a smile .

But d’you think he’s got to the stage where whatever he says he just gets lampooned ?

FYI I’ve never voted Reform and in my life I’ve voted

Con
Lab
Lib Dem

at different times so I’m not

far right, I’m not far left, and I’ve never voted for one of the non mainstream ‘minority’ or ‘extreme’ parties

im also not that political generally speaking - in the last election I admit I didn’t know enough about the respective parties’ manifestos to make what I felt was an informed choice …

I do feel that the Conservatives shot them selves in the foot on the issue of National Servuce though …

Who could take anything 30p Lee has to say seriously?

PinkArt · 10/12/2024 14:13

If an MP is good to make comments as ridiculous as the Somme one, of course he's fair game.

housemaus · 10/12/2024 14:14

He says gobsmackingly stupid or deliberately inflammatory stuff all the time, very publicly. He could choose not to say such stupid shit and then people wouldn't mock him for it, and yet he continues.

Dash0Cal · 10/12/2024 14:15

I think he says these daft things because he knows it gets a reaction, and people sharing it on social media are giving him free advertising.

ItGhoul · 10/12/2024 14:20

He gets lampooned whatever he says because pretty much everything he says is fucking ludicrous.

He's made himself a laughing stock by repeatedly making statements that are bigoted, exaggerated, inaccurate or just plain thick. He deserves every bit of mockery he gets, and more.

Hope that clarifies things.

SerendipityJane · 10/12/2024 14:48

He really is thick as mince. He doesn't even know he is, which is soooooo much funnier.

At the end of the day, it's a reminder that all of us - even thick people - are entitled to have our peers represent us.

Spirallingdownwards · 10/12/2024 15:03

Perhaps he wouldn't be lampooned if he didn't tweet or say such dickhead things.

SapphOhNo · 10/12/2024 15:06

He's thick and not fit for office. He deserves all the lampooning.

Snorlaxo · 10/12/2024 15:09

His past stupid comments have rightly made him a laughing stock. I suspect that part of him enjoys being “persecuted” by “lefties” on X and that not being respected but famous suits him fine.
30p Lee is an embarrassment and a stereotype of what people think Reform is about.

He knows what he says is ridiculous and inflammatory - it's the only was he can get any publicity.

SerendipityJane · 10/12/2024 15:15

Thing is because he is thick, and all the non thickies know that, then the only way he can get his thickness (and himself) into the news is to make it about something other than thickness. PR 101 really.

LavenderSquid · 10/12/2024 15:16

The things Lee Anderson says are so ridiculous I'm convinced he's trolling us at this stage

SinnerBoy · 10/12/2024 15:16

He's an arsehole and a gobshite, fluent in bollocks. He deserves all the mockery he gets.

Scattery · 10/12/2024 15:18

YABU.

The man wouldn't know the meaning of self-reflection even if he looked it up in a dictionary. He will never take personal responsibility for his own words or blinkered views. Let's stop giving fools like 30p Lee a pass.

MasterOfOne · 10/12/2024 15:18

The ONLY time I've considered him slightly less that awful was when he called out Jack Monroe and showed everyone what a grifter she truly is!

LauderSyme · 10/12/2024 15:22

If he is fair game it's because he designed, drew and stuck the target on his own back. He is getting the responses he deserves.

Workingclasslass · 10/12/2024 15:24

You even say yourself that you don’t really know about politics well I suggest that you look at what he’s done and then come back to us. I think that he’s made so many gaffs probably deliberately because I think that’s probably how we thinks you can’t help himself and quite frankly I think he’s a twat

TickingAlongNicely · 10/12/2024 15:27

He is the living embodiment of all publicity being good.

He's the MP of a place the vast majority would not have heard of,not a minister or anything significant...

Yet people are talking about him. Some of whom are not properly aware of their own MPs name.

thepariscrimefiles · 10/12/2024 15:31

He is a bigoted disgrace of a man with no principles whatsoever. He is like a caricature of a working class northerner, but without their wit and humour.

He was expelled from the Labour Party for bricking up the entrance to a legal traveller's site. He has always been a racist buffoon.

StMarie4me · 10/12/2024 15:39

He's a piece of shit.

That's why.

JazzyJelly · 10/12/2024 15:45

People should be more respectful! I'm sure he was very brave during the Battle of the Somme.

ilovesooty · 10/12/2024 15:48

Nailed it.
