Aibu to shamelessly ask you what your favourite festive cocktails are?! Or any cocktail for that matter!

Not festive but I love a Tom Collins

Strangerthanfictions · 09/12/2024 14:00

I made French 75s at the weekend, regular and festive, it was actually very easy, we made a cranberry syrup, took no effort or time and they were delicious. I also love a bramble and a tom Collins and a Bailey's espresso Martini

I love a negroni, so this is a festive favourite.

Caress - Cointreau and Baileys, Decorated with grated chocolate.

Not my favourite but I have discovered a newfound love of snowballs after we made some for a retro Christmas party 😂 I suspect they are very much a marmite cocktail!

Kir Royale is very festive, though it's hard to beat a classic champagne cocktail with angostura bitters on a sugar lump, brandy and champagne. 🥂 🍾 🥂

iceskatingmama · 09/12/2024 14:37

Yes very!!!

This is what we usually have, but we're going to try and vary things a bit this year, but then - if it ain't broke?

Gin and Dubonnet is wonderful. It tastes very festive to me. I normally drink a few negronis. Replacing the vermouth in a negroni with Dubonnet is lovely too.

LOpportunityCestFuckingEnorme · 09/12/2024 17:34

Does Baileys hot chocolate count?

https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/recipe/winter-berry-bellini

Or cherry bakewells- cherry brandy and amaretto topped with prosecco. Or lemonade.

worrisomeasset · 09/12/2024 18:00

The Godfather is approx 2 parts Scotch to 1part amaretto. Serve over ice in a whisky tumbler. The almond-y taste of the amaretto is very Christmassy despite the drink’s somewhat non-festive name.

I had a cranberry martini last week and will definitely be doing it again. Simple but delicious.

@XWKD are you a G & Diva?

If so - cheers! (and no clinking).

SuzieNine · 09/12/2024 18:13

Manhattans and Negronis are my go-to winter cocktails. There’s something about red vermouth that is very redolent of the season. Whisky Macs are another good option.

Poinsettia not too intensely alcoholic, although I'd never turn down a Negroni, and it looks really pretty in the glass.

We make this every year.

I didn't know there was a name for our sort! 🤣

NolongeraboutShaun · 09/12/2024 19:27

@XWKD

It is much featured as the drink of choice on the "Help I sexted my boss" podcast with William Hansen and Jordan North. It's very, very funny (and quite very rude!)

ghostyslovesheets · 09/12/2024 19:30

Brandy alexander 🍹

Pippyls67 · 09/12/2024 19:31

Still can’t beat a Snowball. Yummy.

Brandy alexander 🍹

I also came here to say a brandy Alexander (if you want something creamy). So simple and so delicious.

But it won't work for an aperitif / with savoury food!
