Aibu to think this phrase has vanished in recent years? I can't tell how long... maybe 20+

I'm sure I used to hear people say it, I heard it recently and it just sounded so odd.

?
It's not a phrase
It's the name of an item
And no I don't think it's remotely vanished

FuckILookLike · 04/12/2024 16:59

What?😂

Teeheehee1579 · 04/12/2024 17:00

Eh? I use it on a daily basis to describe an actual item

OtterOnAPlane · 04/12/2024 17:03

I put my kids in a bubble bath (a bath full of bubbles), made with bubble bath (the stuff in a bottle) regularly.

MrsSethGecko · 04/12/2024 17:07

I've just had a bubble bath.

RosieBurdock · 04/12/2024 17:09

Just checked the Tesco website. It's still called Bubble bath on the packaging for kids. For adults it still has bubble bath in the website description, but says bath soak or bath foam on the packaging.

MorrisZapp · 04/12/2024 17:14

It's the name of my favourite perfume, from Maison Margiela. It's also the name of an 'iconic' nail polish shade from OPI.

I love that perfume! I layer it with 'when the rain stops'

I noticed this recently when looking for a bubble bath. It’s a term rarely used by brands anymore. It’s because the posher kinds tend not to make so many bubbles I reckon. So it’s all bath soaks or oils

StormingNorman · 04/12/2024 17:22

I don’t say it often because I don’t like baths so have no need to buy or use bubble bath. I’m not sure how else I’d refer to though.

PrincessAnne4Eva · 04/12/2024 17:24

Yes OP it's almost disappeared from retail marketing. Packaging on bubble bath often calls it "bath foam" these days when it's actually just good old bubble bath. 🤣 I suppose someone in a marketing department decided "bath foam" or "bath elixir" sounded posher.

leafybrew · 04/12/2024 17:26

I get what you mean OP.

It’s not advertised as such anymore.

When was (if ever?) there an advert for Radox bubble bath on TV??

😂. I may have lost the plot as knackered today…

ErrolTheDragon · 04/12/2024 17:33

I seem to remember the 'relax in a radox bath' being for the (non bubbly) original radox bath salts.

It's a 'bath soak' now, but makes jolly nice bubbles in the soft water round here.

Annabella92 · 04/12/2024 17:35

I don't mean as in the bottle of soap itself, I mean like having a bubble bath. Nobody says they're having or had a bubble bath anymore

Eh? No! I like a good bubble bath!!

LigamentBandy · 04/12/2024 17:37

@Annabella92 Did you mean to just think this to yourself? And accidently started a thread on mumsnet?!

It was running round in my head making me think I was mad.. so thought I'd see if I was the only one

I have a bubble bath most nights - I usually use Matey bubbles as they are the most bubbly (you know, in a pirate bottle for children?) and don't leave the bath all slimy like bath oils do.

Wasn't a question to you ......

mamajong · 04/12/2024 17:52

At first I thought yabu, of course it exists! But then I've checked the bathroom and all the bubble bath products actually say bath soak, bath elixir...etc so yanbu at all, however it will always be bubble bath to me! 🤣

WonderingWanda · 04/12/2024 17:53

Bubble bath is the thrush inducing work of the devil, it has no place in my life!

Did you mean to scroll by a thread you're not interested in an accidentally comment/make yourself look like a bit of a wally? 🤭

I was interested as to what it was ....
Oh no some random on the Internet, emoji laughed at me...
And called me a "wally"
Gutted

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 04/12/2024 17:59

I have one weekly. I think because it's now very bubbly if you have hard water. Perhaps people complained it was very accurate.
