Anyone work at marks and spencer?

Namechangeforme88 · 14/11/2024 15:18

So my mum has bought me a dress from marks and spencers, its just arrived, but there's no invoice with it and it doesn't suit.

Am I able to still exchange it in store? Or do I definitely need the invoice/receipt?

Thanks

You don't get an invoice now. Probably easier if your mum returns it, she'll have all the details of the order.

TH1NG1E · 14/11/2024 15:24

She must have an email?

gummania · 14/11/2024 15:29

she bought it on line?
she will have an email order confirmation

Oh right ok thanks. She lives a long way from me, I dont really want to tell her either, she's already in a bad mood about it.

You need to go into the account it was ordered from to select returns and whether store or by post.

Yeah she's a bit batshit and flies off the handle very easily.

When she ordered it they asked for a number and she obviously gave them her number, they sent 2 texts this morning about the delivery and she went a bit mental at that saying they should have text me not her 🤷‍♀️

Shes a nightmare. The last time we had an argument she ran around telling anyone who would listen, including my brothers that I'd said she couldn't ever see my daughter again, which isn't true at all. I got loads of flack from everyone in the family. Sorry bit off topic.

you shouldn’t be accepting gifts from her then
send it back

AnotherDayAnotherOutfit · 14/11/2024 15:55

Just take it to store. With no receipt I think they will swap you or credit note, you just wouldn't get a refund

canyon2000 · 14/11/2024 16:17

I think they might be able to use the information from the address label on the bag it was delivered in to return/exchange it.

pizzaHeart · 14/11/2024 16:22

They need order number and they may ask you what name is on the account . You won’t be able to return for sure as you’d need a card she payed with but maybe exchange, never done this.

graduand · 14/11/2024 16:35

I think all the order numbers etc are on the label on the outside of the package. I think you can probably exchange it at the desk using the label details.

mondaytosunday · 14/11/2024 16:44

Take it to a store. M pretty sure they have 'return in store' for online items, and as you are exchanging it not having a receipt shouldn't be a problem. Bring all the original packing with you - and it should have a packing slip.

MSLRT · 14/11/2024 16:46

Edited

Just ask your mum to forward the email confirmation of the order.

beachmum1 · 14/11/2024 16:49

To return in next nowadays items that have been ordered online they literally scan the bar code - very bizarre but it's true!

hopeishere · 14/11/2024 20:06

I think the op doesn't want her mum to know she's returning it at all.

Thank you. I'll have a looksy

I did this recently. Friend sent a baby gift and I didn’t want to tell her she had the wrong size. They were able to scan the label and see that it had been bought online, and then they did the exchange for me. Far as I can tell, friend has no idea I did it.
