I think it's around £30

Friend says less

We do not live in London

Does anyone know?

Not a fancy salon, a regular barbers that the average Joe goes to

YANBU = £30
YABU = a different amount

At £30 you may aswell buy your own clippers.

Spagettifunctional · 10/11/2024 23:20

Oh my god that’s crazy 😳

It's difficult to find a price online but one up my road is £24 for a haircut and £40 for hair and beard.

DonnaSummet · 10/11/2024 23:39

£20

LBOCS2 · 10/11/2024 23:40

My husband pays £20.

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 10/11/2024 23:42

We're not in London but close and DH pays £30 , he could go to a cheap Turkish barber (of which there are many) but they only seem to do 4 haircuts on all of their clients I think that's closer to £20 maybe even a tiny bit less.
He has thick hair, that isn't straight and a double crown, so needs a good barber.

dontcryformeargentina · 10/11/2024 23:42

25

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 10/11/2024 23:42

It's £40 if he has his beard trimmed too

Hotpinkparade · 10/11/2024 23:49

I live in Buckinghamshire and my son gets his done for £26 but it’s for a taper cut which is a longer appointment than a standard cut which is £21. His barber is a small chain and this store is in a supermarket so pretty normal I think.

sunbum · 11/11/2024 01:39

I have 4 teenage boys and can confidently assert it costs £18-24. It used ro be less, more like £16/£17 pre covid but now I would say around £20/£21 is more average and £24 if having a skin fade.

whatdoidonowffs · 11/11/2024 13:47

I’m just outside London and pay £30 for haircut ( grade 2 all over ) hot towel shave, and ear and nose wax
it’s my payday treat to me 😂😂

N1C · 11/11/2024 13:50

Wow, that’s quite a hefty outgoing for you with 4 of them, especially when they don’t like going than a couple of weeks for a fresh cut!

you have my sympathy.

IsThisNameTaken · 11/11/2024 13:57

SW London - DH pays £24 and DS pays £22 (gets student discount but is charged more for a taper fade - whatever that is .....!)

InTheRainOnATrain · 11/11/2024 14:05

£20 for an adult, £15 for a child at the one DS and DH go to - Turkish barbers in SW London.

OldLondonDad · 11/11/2024 14:06

£13 for me in Zone 3

Rollercoaster1920 · 11/11/2024 14:17

£21 to £25ish in the Z2 'burbs. Although a barbers in a central / tourist area might be more.

SidhuVicious · 11/11/2024 14:17

The Turkish barbers in Brum seem to be charging £26 for a cut and beard trim, so can imagine £40 in London. My partner pays £15 at a local barber who's just as good.

Turmerictolly · 11/11/2024 14:20

Anywhere from £5 - £30 we've found.

FelixtheAardvark · 11/11/2024 14:29

Last time I had a haircut in the City (just off Liverpool St) it was £17.

Yes, it drives me mad, especially as they want the fade cut back in every other bloody week. I try and operate a 'once a half term' policy and luckily they like the overgrown at the front look so we can just about manage that and one has gone to uni so has to sort it from student loan (he pays £20 with a student discount, uni town in the SE).

I dont quite understand why anything with the word 'fade' in automatically costs more, it doesn't seem to take the barber any longer to do it.
