To wonder what Nigel Farage is doing in the US

On LBC he mentioned he spent all of yesterday outside a polling station in Pennsylvania, and today he was giving interviews 'ha ha haing' at various British journalists.

Is Parliament in recess? Why isn't he here, working as a MP?

Because his tongue is stuck so far up Trumps arse that he can’t detach himself.

Justcallmebebes · 06/11/2024 16:29

The same reason various labour members and mps were in the US campaigning for Harris

tuvamoodyson · 06/11/2024 16:30

Anything to stay out of Clacton…

Which Labour MP has been in the US campaigning for Harris please?

Westfacing · 06/11/2024 16:31

Has he even held a surgery in his constituency yet?

chumpt · 06/11/2024 16:32

prob learning 1 thing or 2 from trump team.

Which MPs?

vodkaredbullgirl · 06/11/2024 16:33

So he can get his head so far up Trumps arse.

orangewasp · 06/11/2024 16:33

Arse licking Trump and avoiding his own constituents. Parliament is not in recess.

Labour MPs? Are you sure?

Yousernamenotfound · 06/11/2024 16:35

He's realised Clacton is an area of high needs and is too lazy to be present enough to meet those needs.

Newterm · 06/11/2024 16:35

pretty sure Labour HQ sent about 100 members of staff to help with the Harris campaign.

Womblewife · 06/11/2024 16:37

English MPs do go abroad to support elections.
with trump now in charge over there - we might be glad to have someone who is in with him, even if it is farage. Our foreign secretary called him a sociopath, so that is going to be a trade problem straight from the get go.

Members of staff - maybe. MP's - none of which I am aware.

He doesn't hold a grudge if you bend the knee to him. His vice-president called him America's Hitler.

None of them. Labour Party HQ sent staffers, because they are funded by the Labour Party, not government (taxpayers) coffers. That's entirely different from sitting MPs or civil servants (funded by taxpayers) campaigning. Wonder if the BBC will run a massive story about Nigel being over there campaigning. No, I don't really. Of course they won't.

Startingagainandagain · 06/11/2024 16:45

He is doing what he does best: putting self-interest and self-promotion above everything else.

He does not care about the UK or Clacton or anything that isn't about feeding his ego and lining his pockets.

I am puzzled that the people who voted for him thought it would be any different...

The were Labour party members and activists not MPs. They can do what they like.

Boomer55 · 06/11/2024 16:46

He’s more interested in fawning around Trump than he is with working for his own constituents. 🤷‍♀️

lasagnelle · 06/11/2024 16:46

Probably safer for the UK that he's there?

ExpressCheckout · 06/11/2024 16:48

Ideally his electorate would notice that he's not 'at home' doing the job he's paid to do. But as we all know, Farage/Reform have targeted people who don't read the news.

Petrine · 06/11/2024 16:54

He’s showing support for Donald Trump who is a friend of his. He flew out to support him after he was shot as well. I don’t understand why anyone would think it odd.

Hmm.

Parliament is sitting at the moment, and so I'd expect an MP to either be there, or serving their constituents, not flying to/from the USA.

It's obviously not illegal, but it's also not a great look for a working MP to be doing this. I presume he's dealt with all his casework in Clacton?

Iwantmyoldnameback · 06/11/2024 17:11

He's out there shit stirring that's what he's doing.
