People who don’t pick up their receipts from ATMs

i get sometimes the buttons on the outside of the screen don’t align. Why if you get a receipt either requested or didn’t but thought you selected no but get one (see above)

If you don’t want your receipt, please tear it up and put in a bin. If the receipt bin by the ATM is full, use another bin!

More worryingly is on the couple of occasions where I caught glimpse of the receipt which is hanging from the receipt exit, these people have high 4 figure or 5 digit balances. Which i envy

This simply sounds like jealousy. Stop looking at them! I've never looked at a receipt somebody left in an ATM because I'm not a nosy cow 😂

I would chase them and suggest they move their 5 figures into a savings account. They ae missing out on interest keeping it sitting in their current.

I only see them with high balances. I just assume they're left on purpose to show people how minted they are.

I don't get it. Why is it worrying for you to look at other people's bank balances?

Should people with luxury cars keep them in garages, so you don't feel envious???

It's not a security issue, so why would it matter if the leave it behind? Perhaps it's slightly annoying to have to deal with someone else's paper litter, but it's no cause for worry, really.

When I remove the receipt I don’t look at the receipts on purpose. It’s accidental

plus some have either the last or first two numbers blanked.

There's only one thing you are in RECEIPT of I'm afraid, and it starts with a Y and ends with ABU.

I live in London, I don’t think I’ve seen someone take cash out of the wall in a decade. let alone a receipt. It’s all cashless, we just use what remains floating around in the ether. I don’t even have £1 for the locker at the swimming pool, it’s all done on a card.

Why is it "more worrying" that you saw their balance? - The entire bank account details are not printed on the receipt and it isn't as though you know these people.

So what the problem if people are not picking them up?
