People who don’t pick up their receipts from ATMs

i get sometimes the buttons on the outside of the screen don’t align. Why if you get a receipt either requested or didn’t but thought you selected no but get one (see above)

If you don’t want your receipt, please tear it up and put in a bin. If the receipt bin by the ATM is full, use another bin!

More worryingly is on the couple of occasions where I caught glimpse of the receipt which is hanging from the receipt exit, these people have high 4 figure or 5 digit balances. Which i envy

I absolutely agree with it being a littering problem but it’s unclear from OP’s post that it was about littering.
I’m concerned that maybe also there is some sort of safety issue lm not aware of. That’s why I asked OP to clarify her post.

There's nothing I can do about elderly people potentially being scammed.
My sil helps my mil with online banking, and I know she moves excess money from current to savings account .
