I am currently working my way through the bookstore (you can see it in @JaceLancs ' first picture) - but I love all Lego, any Lego, big, small, whatever. Especially if it involves minifigures. One of my greatest joys as an adult is spending my discretionary income on a Lego set once in a while.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 17/10/2024 09:30

The book store is quite slow going but my next set is waiting for me in the loft - the Jazz club Grin.

BigBoysDontCry · 17/10/2024 09:34

This is ours, 57kg and counting...

Not as pretty as your displays but we are hoping to get it sorted at some point.

Oh and that doesn't count the instructions which are in a separate box.

JaceLancs · 17/10/2024 09:37

Adult DS has all the games consoles sets and Pac-Man machine which I love - he also does super Mario range
DD likes the plants and flowers - she also has historic buildings in her conservatory - might buy her notre dame for Xmas
DP likes technix and the space range - currently considering crane and bulldozer but they are £4-500

Ooh a Lego thread.

I adore Lego. I played with it myself in my childhood when it was so basic but still had hours of fun.

My son got me the Taj for Xmas. It was not as much fun as the Friends set I got (but don't tell my son that).

I was so tempted to get this off the lego site as they are retiring it soon , looks amazing

I've got the Animal Crossing Lego sets 😁 and grogu & mandalorian. I love Lego going to start collecting again.

LegoTherapy · 17/10/2024 10:19

We need more shelves for the Lego.

Needmorelego · 17/10/2024 10:26

I am the only Lego obsessive here that prefers the little sets ?
I love the small Creator 3 in 1 sets. I've recently built the yellow watering can and the camera. Thinking about maybe the Roller Boot or Ukulele for Christmas.
One of my favourite buys this year was the little red dragon - only £8.99. I love the £8.99 sets.

Needmorelego · 17/10/2024 10:29

I love collecting polybags too.
I love the look of this one coming out in January.

@JaceLancs I have shelves but they’re full of the bigger sets.I think I’ll have to dismantle some and put them away to make way for the new lot. Either that or take over another room.

WolfFoxHare · 17/10/2024 10:47

Aside from DS's endless smaller sets, and DH's Star Wars ships collection and Dune ornithopter thing, we have the Daily Bugle, the Sanctum Sanctorum, most of the modulars, Mos Eisley Cantina, all the big Ninjago City sets, the Spring Lantern Festival, the Blacksmith's cottage, the Home Alone house, the Log Cabin and I have a lot of the botanical plants... next on the list is the Ideas Treehouse, the Marvel Mansion, the Botanical Gardens and the Lunar New Year restaurant set. I need to order that one quick because it's on back-order. I love the little houses best. I want to make a city layout but we don't have space so they're all over the house on shelves.

Dearover · 14/10/2024 19:35

Yoda
Tulips, daffs, chrysanthemums, wild flower table centre pIece.
Fiat 500, Vespa, Porche, VW Beetle, Mini, VW Camper
Several architecture sets, Lego shop.
Marble maze, Simpson's House, female scientists.
Floral art
I'm sure there are more, but I'm not going to start on DH's Jaws, Concorde, space sets, Tecnic diggers etc

Waiting to start Tuxedo Cat.

My DS has Tuxedo Cat.

I'd really like the big castle set, the medieval village and the viking village sets... we really have no space for them though! I keep wondering whether to buy them and put them away for when DS moves out, then we could use his bedroom for Lego 😂

FrozenLimeMargarita · 17/10/2024 11:10

I have all the botanicals (it is the gateway drug in adult lego, I swear!) Prior to the botanicals, I was not all that into lego but the OH had a few.

Then BOOM I was invested. We have the Ghostbusters building, Daily Bugle, Pac Man, consoles, loads of cars and the milky way. We have run out of space and the OH has over flowed his room is starting to eye up my hobby room.

The OH just got the retro Batman car and I got the Christmas wreath

It is just a lovely ritual. We have a day, normally rainy or cold, where we put a favourite film or series on the tv, get 'build snacks' and then set up the big table/comfy chairs and just sit in each other company either chatting or in companionable silence while we concentrate.

WhingeInTheWillows · 17/10/2024 11:35

@WolfFoxHare I would buy them if I were you, sets can be a good investment after a few years if you decide you don’t want them. Once they retire the price usually goes up and up.

OnlyTheBravest · 17/10/2024 11:38

My guilty pleasure is Lego. I have far too much.

I am currently building the 4000+ piece Tower Bridge. I would like to get the display box and the light up kit for it as well. It is far too nice to put in the attic when completed.

I really want the Animal Crossing sets, but I don’t know where to display them!

I’m so jealous of the Mos Eisley Cantina! I really want the band mini figs!

I have quite a few of the flower ones but I'm really hankering after the Jaws set. £130 though 😭

That's what I keep telling my husband! If we'd bought duplicates of DS's Ninjago City sets, we'd be quids in now. It appreciates better than gold!

Agreed . I have a lot of large sets but sometimes I just want a quick small set , I like the brickhedz . I've just bought the blue ford anglia and a couple of Santa poly bags

It is a great set! My son loves it... one of my relatives has her set on display and she kindly let him play with it, and then a year later I found it really reduced at John Lewis so snapped it up.

Needmorelego · 17/10/2024 12:07

@hattie43 where did you get the Santa polybag please?
There's one I am after but it's sold out on a website I usually use.
