Very, 11 years together, married for 5. He's the most amazing man.

shellyleppard · 15/09/2024 19:57

Yes, with myself..... single for 3 year's

whatsinmypockets · 15/09/2024 19:57

Yes. In this edition for a year, but we were together for 8 years after we met 20 years ago.

It's been a beautiful reunion and we're happier than we've ever been.

Skyrainlight · 15/09/2024 19:57

Very happy 26 years.

BlueMum16 · 15/09/2024 19:57

Why are you still together if you're not happy. Life is too short.

We about 20+ years together, 18 years married. Quite happy. Two kids but lots of 'us' time and weekends away.

RedBulb · 15/09/2024 19:58

Yes. 8 years. I spent too long in one that I didn’t realise was making me unhappy, until I left and the fog lifted. I’m never putting up with that again.

Aussieland · 15/09/2024 19:58

Very. Only 2 years but the best relationship of my life (and there have been some doozies) If it’s shit get out. Don’t waste your life

Flibflobflibflob · 15/09/2024 19:58

Yes about 12 years. If you aren’t happy you don’t have to stay there, lifes too short. You aren’t married so it’s easier to nip it in the bud quickly x

Yes me too - 15 years and still going strong - very happy

Tooty78 · 15/09/2024 19:59

Very much so, and we have 47 years on the clock!

ThreePointOneFourOneFiveNine · 15/09/2024 19:59

Yes. Married 21 years, together for a couple of years before that, two kids. We’ve been through some difficult times together, things are pretty shit right now to be honest, so neither of us is massively happy, but we are happy to be dealing with it together.

MonsteraMama · 15/09/2024 20:00

18 years and very, very happy.

If you're not happy after only a year why stay? I know plenty of people stay in long relationships that have gone stale due to finances, kids etc but if it's only been a year you can't be that entangled already? Leave, find happiness, life is too short.

Trying to break it off but he makes me feel sorry for him.

Yes, 11 years. If you’re not having fun one year in I would drop it. Life is too short!

BobbyBiscuits · 15/09/2024 20:01

Yes. Not perfect but can't imagine wanting anyone else. Nearly 18 years now. We are quite different in a bunch of ways which helps I think. I'm hyper extrovert and he's pretty shy in social situations. But we have our own space and interests but plenty in common too. Hes my best friend and ally.

Meadowfinch · 15/09/2024 20:02

No, not for the last 7 years. I ended things with last boyfriend when he wanted me to 'get rid of DS 50% of the time.' DS was 9 at the time. 😡

I haven't pursued another relationship because I'd rather not cause hassle in ds' exam years.

Relationships are just too difficult.

StressedQueen · 15/09/2024 20:02

Very much so. Been together for 19 years now and have 5 children together.

ComtesseDeSpair · 15/09/2024 20:02

Yes, couldn’t be happier. 8 years. But I’ve also never been in an unhappy relationship, so I count myself quite fortunate as that seems to put me in a minority.

If you’ve only been together a year, what’s keeping you, if you’re unhappy? Get out now, before you start making daft commitments which will get you stuck.

BeachHutsAndDeckchairs · 15/09/2024 20:03

Yes. 16 years together, married 11.

Meadowfinch · 15/09/2024 20:04

Harden your heart OP. Don't waste your life on the wrong man.. You cannot base a relationship on pity.

AskingForAFriend12 · 15/09/2024 20:07

No.
Have 2 kids and no family of friends here (in the 500 miles radius) so breaking up isn't as easy with absolutely no help around.

socks1107 · 15/09/2024 20:09

Yes, together 13 years and married 7.

Life is too short to be unhappy in a relationship ( my dh is my second marriage)

JHound · 15/09/2024 20:10

RosannaSpider · 15/09/2024 19:55

Happy relationship with myself. Properly single for 12 years and no desire to try to change that.

RosesAndHellebores · 15/09/2024 20:11

Yes 35 years. And happy from the night we met.

JHound · 15/09/2024 20:12

Trying to break it off but he makes me feel sorry for him.

You cannot continue to date somebody because you feel sorry for them. You will feel extremely sorry for yourself if you stay.
