How long do you wait before giving up?

Im waiting for someone to collect my sofa after selling on Facebook. They’re 15 minutes late. Should I give it up and get on with my evening?

I presume the logic much to mine would be if they are then inconvenienced they might learn to be fucking on time.

I get being irritated by not being able to relax but that won't change if they show up in an hour anyway.

By not letting them take the sofa YOU are getting stuck with the sofa, you then have to go through this again or pay to get rid of it... it is rude to be late for no reason or no show but lets not pretend its not doing you a favor.

15mins is nothing.

It can take that to find somewhere to park/find the right street.

If someone says they’ll be there at 7, I assume it’ll be anywhere from 7-7:30.

I wouldn’t call anything up to 30mins late.

After 30mins then I would say they are late but I would assume they just got lost or something.

15 mins isn't much time, 30-45 mins I'd class as a no show. But if they knocked at 8pm I'd open the door as I couldn't be arsed trying to get rid of it again when there's a perfectly good buyer stood there waiting to take it.

I host a daily work call. No 'give it a couple of minutes' nonsense, it starts on time. People know this and turn up on time.

I think a huge number of FB buyers don’t turn up but if you aren’t doing anything, I’d give them longer to see if they are late or lost.

Hmm, I see your logic...But I presume OP then has to build a bonfire to burn it on first. Then clear up the burnt remnants of an old settee. That takes longer but at least the time wasting fuckers didn't get it 😀

I have an allotment and an orchard at home. Ash is good for the land 😅 so is bone and blood is people are really annoying 😉🤣

Any large items i used to give it till the next day and that was it on to the next.
Now everything goes straight to the tip.

They turned up 50 minutes late, strolled in no apology. Teenage daughter in tow who just walks straight past me. Offered 20% lower than asking price. I let them have it, can’t be arsed with going through it again.
