Would you swap seats in a cinema if empty

Say you booked the cheapest seat in the cinema but when there it's pretty much empty, would you seat in a VIP seat?

YABU - no, stick to the normal seat that you paid for.

YANBU - yes, go for it.

I didn't even know cinemas had VIP seats.

I voted no because you haven't paid for it. It's like wandering into first class on an aeroplane and saying 'oh there's a free seat here' and plonking yourself down.

This.

MelainesLaugh · 31/08/2024 08:21

No way. Pay for the VIP if you want to sit there

@Milsonophonia

yes, still.

so take you 'wow' & stow it.

i have underlying health conditions, live alone & there still a lot of covid around. It's still making people incredibly unwell.

i do what I can to stay well & to avoid it.

your problem with that??

what Does this have to do with posh seats?

Who wouldn’t do that if you could just walk over though?

There are a lot of nervy people on this thread.

Yes of course I would and I also have done it, I do wait a while though in case someone's late.

Try reading the posts, it's not complicated

Yep! We deliberately wait until a film has been out a while then book cheapo seats then move to the posh ones. Every time.

and take our own sweets

Did you know that you are actually allowed to take your own sweets and drinks into the cinema?

You're welcome!

Celticliving · 31/08/2024 15:16

No, but my local cinema is a luxe - the seats are all wide, really comfy, reclines and has a table. And only £10 each.

I do, however, take my blanket into the cinema, take my shoes off, recline the chair and curl into a ball. Which is especially nice if it's a film that I've taken the kids' to that I have absolutely no interest in. I just go to sleep. Bliss.

I've done it before and never had an issue. I have the cinema apps on my phone so have an idea of how many people are in my screening and where other people are sat. Seen other people do it too.
