Some 'good' news at last. The paedophile Huw Edwards, the public face of our public service broadcaster, has been charged with sexual offences. He's hidden in the Priory for more than a year whilst trousering his full salary from the BBC and claiming his mental illness made him download child pornography. I thought he was going to get away with it, but somebody at the CPS has had the guts to charge this moron. Thank god.

Only at the BBC. The man has no pride, no honour. He could have resigned immediately when he was suspended as allegations were made but no, he preferred to cry 'mental health' and run off to a private hospital, leaving his wife to explain to the world. He has hidden for more than a year, all the while taking his obscene salary and even getting a pay rise. He is absolutely beneath contempt and I hope he gets the maximum sentence.

There were threads on him when it first came out last year. Those of us who said he was using MH to hide from his crimes, hoping to cover them up, were branded disgusting. The original charges should be looked at again. A married man of 60 has no business sexually messaging a 17 year old, then threatening them to keep quiet. To allow the MET to judge these crimes should be questioned now so many have been sacked themselves for sexual crimes, grooming and DV.

I'm not defending him - but I was devastated to discover it was Huw. He was my favourite newsreader/broadcaster. He was absolutely the last person I suspected - although my son knew via social media quite early on, and I was in denial. I've never quite recovered from this bombshell.

To me it's absolutely baffling. The idea that paedophiles are sad, lonely 'losers' is clearly misleading.

He will probably just get put on the register and have to do community service but it's more about the fact that he will loose his job.

I never feel the need to put English infront of vile perpetrators. Their nationality would always be an afterthought to the crime.

Huw Edwards is another example of a paedophile who needs his balls cut off.

Simple and straightforward forward, all paedophiles and sex offenders need to be castrated to protect Women, Girls, and Children.

No messing about off with their balls as soon as there convicted.

Almost daily I hear in the media about men who've sexually abused women and children, it's time the Government brought in castration of all sex offenders.
