A bit more context is necessary here

That’s not context. That’s a headline. What were the circumstances surrounding this?

WagyuBeef · 17/06/2024 17:37

There's an article on them here:

https://archive.ph/xCTXO

In 2021, while visiting a friend’s house in the Welsh town of Caerphilly, ten-year-old Jack Lis was fatally attacked by a dog called Beast. It mauled him so severely that Jack’s mother could identify her son’s body only from his shoe.

Forhecksake · 17/06/2024 17:37

The article is behind a paywall

Ah that’s another one who sadly was mauled to death.

What you want to know if the victims ie the children were at fault.

OP posts:
FourLeggedBuckers · 17/06/2024 17:42

The context would be why the dog hasn’t been put down - there must be a reason for that, as it seems a baffling decision out of context.

The attacks were last summer but it has only recently gone through court.

That’s a huge leap. I am asking about the circumstances, which is entirely reasonable!

FourLeggedBuckers · 17/06/2024 17:46

The context would seem to be that the dog is now in the possession of a new owner - perhaps it’s thought that the new owner’s management and training is sufficient to mitigate the risk of further attacks.

It’s not a decision I’d want to make, or a dog I’d want to own, though.

Ah yes sorry I see.The dog had attacked and injured a 9 and 10 year old when the dog was off lead in the street and on another occasion there was a less serious incident with another child.
The owners then sold the dog but it was later seized.

Awful, I see the owners are true to type; roadman & blow up doll.

CommeUneVacheEspagnole · 17/06/2024 18:00

I'm a strong defender that XL bully's shouldn't be banned.

I love dogs, have a difficult breed myself and believe dogs should only be sold and kept by people with a licence and a certain level of training. Dogs should not be off lead unless in a specified area and after proved recall. I was also raised in the council house in a rough part of England. I am not stuck up.

So believe me when I say this is the exact kind of chav scum that should not be allowed to own any kind of animal, let alone one with such a set of breed traits. The problem is these cunt owners and the legislation in place. Even after the so called ban, they are killing people. The owners should be embarrassed of themselves. You can't get a big dog like this to look like ten men and act like a mouse when something goes wrong. They should have had him put down or kept and trained. Not sold.

IsEveryUserNameBloodyTaken · 18/06/2024 05:27

The point I was trying to make with this post is that the bully apologists will say it’s deed not breed, but even when the deed is committed that is sometimes ignored.
What happens when the dog goes for child number 4 and is mauled to death.
Will there then be any repercussions for those including the judge who decided to give the dog yet another chance.

But the dog has been seized and decision to destroy will be made at the next court hearing. You make it sound as though the dog is still free and under these idiots' care.

Maestoso · 18/06/2024 06:57

It looks like you needed to read to the end of the article. The decision on the future of the, now seized, dog is pending.

WinterMorn · 18/06/2024 08:06

OP, why are you angling for an argument with someone about this?

Not arguing replying to posts from various posters.
Just as I am here to you, is that polite enough.

If someone had been asked to do an artists impression of those two without seeing them, they couldn't have got it more accurate!!
