To buy Taylor Swift tickets on Viagogo?

I know it’s got a bad reputation and I’ll be paying over the odds.

I registered for the pre-sale but never got a code. I’ve been checking ticketmaster and AXS multiple times a day all year but have never seen any resale options come up. I’m registered for alerts on Twickets.

DD is a massive Swiftie and we’re both desperate to go. Viagogo tickets are guaranteed so if we can’t get in (and I realise getting turned away at the gate is a very real possibility) I would get my money back. They can’t all be scammers on there though? I’d never buy tickets off facebook or similar but surely this is as good as it gets?

I've seen some tickets on Twickets today. The official line from Ticketmaster and AXS is that all tickets bought from a 3rd party site will be cancelled. I guess it depends if you want to take that risk. If you do I'd at least pay on credit card, and warn your DD that there is a chance you might not get in.

Yes there’s been a flurry of Edinburgh tickets today. All VIP. We’re after Wembley so it does give me hope that the same might happen nearer the London dates. If I can hold my nerve that long!

I wouldn’t risk it.

TankFlyBoss · 06/06/2024 17:35

I bought Pink tickets through via Gogo without realising what the site was and I am worried we won't be allowed in too :(

The same policy was in effect for France and Spain, but ID's weren't checked at the stadiums and fans had no problems getting in! I purchased tickets on Stubhub for Night 3 at Wembley and have full confidence we'll get in. Stubhub has a fan protect guarantee to provide replacement tickets or a full refund and sellers aren't paid until after the show and face expensive penalties if there's a problem with the tickets and you can't get in. I've bought other concert tickets on their website and never had an issue.

Is Twickets safe to buy from?

wido · 06/06/2024 19:48

My viagogo TS tickets came through on Tuesday (bought July) the company was called Tex

wido · 06/06/2024 19:49

Via Ticketmaster ticket transfer so I think they're good

I think it’s approved by most artists. You can’t increase the price by more than 10% of the face value I believe. Obviously still a resell site and officially not allowed though.

I sold tickets on Viagogo once and they were a total nightmare, took months of arguing to sort out a simple issue. Perhaps they're better for buyers?

PeachyReader · 06/06/2024 22:18

@Karlkennedyslovechild No problem! And with the first UK show happening tomorrow in Cardiff we'll soon know whether any Swifties who bought from stubhub, viagogo, etc were denied entry 🤞

JaneIves · 06/06/2024 22:25

First show is Edinburgh.

PeachyReader · 06/06/2024 23:03

Yes you're right! It's been a long week 😅

Absolutely. I heard her described as the ultimate capitalist recently so I don’t think she’ll do an Ed Sheeran and get the tickets cancelled!

I'd be very interested (as I know others will be) if you mean this!

I bought tickets to see Romesh Rangnathan on tour through Viagogo, not realising it was not the official site. I was worried there'd be an issue but a few days before the gig I got the tickets in the Ticketmaster app and all was fine.

Karlkennedyslovechild · 07/06/2024 17:49

Yes I definitely won’t be buying from a random on mumsnet and I suggest no-one else does either!

We ordered tickets through Viagogo for Olivia Rodrigo and they never turned up. They kept saying they could arrive until 3.30 on the day of the concert - but we had to travel 5 hours to the concert venue and we were very worried for weeks about this and they just were not helpful at all. After a huge amount of fighting we did eventually get a refund but it wasn’t easy at all. We ended up buying tickets elsewhere just in case and just praying that we did get a refund.

Stepherz87 · 08/06/2024 02:37

Had been following this thread when I was buying tickets but wanted to come back and leave a comment- went to Taylor swift tonight in Edinburgh with tickets from viagogo (TEX trader who had a 10 and seemed to b a more recognised trader) bought tickets Fri morning for Fri night

Tickets were sent to my ticketmaster within the hour and we got in no bother along with multiple ppl in the queue - had the best night with my wee girl - I will admit I didn’t settle until we got through the tickets desk but I cannot complain at all 🩷🩷

PeachyReader · 08/06/2024 02:57

That's amazing @Stepherz87! I can't wait to go in a couple weeks! Thanks for updating this thread with your experience 💜
