This £300 pram is too small

YourOchreExpert · 30/05/2024 14:30

My baby is six months and two days old. This is a foldable ergobaby pram at £300. Usually a little more.
I think it's not going to fit him for much longer.

Any recommendations for a pram that will fit in a small boot? I have a bigger pram that I can use for rough terrain, just need something to whip out of the boot.

Is there an insert you can take out?

50shadedofmagnolia · 30/05/2024 14:36

He will fit in it for ages as he will grow longer now not wider 🤷‍♀️

partying2 · 30/05/2024 14:36

How about the bugaboo butterfly?

Don’t get the baby zen yoyo - it’s rubbish for tall children - my two year old outgrew it so quickly and was so uncomfortable

it doesn’t make sense a 6 month old will outgrow a pram so fast though - maybe something can be adjusted

Corksoles · 30/05/2024 14:36

I'm sorry. In the way you've got it configured and perhaps the way the photo cuts, I can't see any problem. It's fine if his feet dangle when he's sitting. Or is his head squashed?

InTheRainOnATrain · 30/05/2024 14:37

Doesn’t look close to being outgrown. Do the straps adjust upwards?

Corksoles · 30/05/2024 14:38

Take off the bar.

Swissrollover · 30/05/2024 14:44

The Metro+ goes up to 22kg, age 4. Check the manual for ways to adjust to suit a growing baby. The straps will likely reposition and you might still have a newborn insert in place.

Jk987 · 30/05/2024 16:44

Aww his little feet! 🧸

Sorry - that doesn't help!

MumChp · 30/05/2024 16:48

Why do you think he won't fit? It should last at least 2 years.

Devilsmommy · 30/05/2024 16:58

I do see what you mean, does the bottom part not lift up for his little feet to rest on?

Sunnysummer24 · 30/05/2024 17:00

I also can’t see the issue.

TheSnowyOwl · 30/05/2024 17:06

You know the insert comes out and it’s fine for legs to hang over the end, don’t you?

Overthebow · 30/05/2024 17:08

It doesn’t look too small, his legs will just dangle over the edge when he’s bigger which is fine, and he’ll be taller in it.

This pram doesn't have an insert

TheAlertHedgehog · 30/05/2024 18:05

Hi OP here. Can't sign in so made a new account.

The shoulders look like they are filling the pram and as he grows the pram tapers.... So I don't see how he will fit in it?

TheAlertHedgehog · 30/05/2024 18:05

His legs aren't the issue, it's more the shoulders

BellaThorpe · 30/05/2024 18:08

As long as there is room underneath for your shopping it's fine is my motto 😂

Absolutely next to none lol but it fits in the car boot.

Nom the top tapers

InTheRainOnATrain · 30/05/2024 18:26

His arms are currently level with the bumper bar which encroaches on the seat at the sides. He has what looks like a fair bit of room at the shoulders. As he grows it’ll be more like his waist level with the bar so it won’t be an issue.

Ok to me it looks like as his body will get longer the shoulders will run out of room... But I'll take on board that I'm wrong :)

They don't get wider as they get longer ?

InTheRainOnATrain · 30/05/2024 18:33

Google image for ergobaby metro toddler and you can find pictures of 3 year olds in it who look comfy enough. We have the YoYo which is equally as narrow and my 6YO can still fit in it. Not that she routinely goes in the pram or anything but she’s sat in it for the occasional sit down on a long day out while her little brother is walking.

There’s a lot more room in my friends YoYo than my Butterfly. The pram itself is longer; the space for the child is not.

Withswitch · 30/05/2024 18:34

Once babies can walk they lose the podge. It'll fit for ages.
