This £300 pram is too small

My baby is six months and two days old. This is a foldable ergobaby pram at £300. Usually a little more.
I think it's not going to fit him for much longer.

Any recommendations for a pram that will fit in a small boot? I have a bigger pram that I can use for rough terrain, just need something to whip out of the boot.

Google image for ergobaby metro toddler and you can find pictures of 3 year olds in it who look comfy enough. We have the YoYo which is equally as narrow and my 6YO can still fit in it. Not that she routinely goes in the pram or anything but she’s sat in it for the occasional sit down on a long day out while her little brother is walking.

Yeah and some children older than him are still using the inserts on the baby car seat he has out grown lol

The Metro+ goes up to 22kg, age 4. Check the manual for ways to adjust to suit a growing baby. The straps will likely reposition and you might still have a newborn insert in place.

He's already 10kg :)

I think as he grows he will be slimmer and taller. My son looked massive in the chicco oh lala stroller we had when he was 1 but when he got taller and slimmer he actually looked smaller in it ! Also that's a great easy to fold small stroller that fits in the boot and isn't very expensive.

I have this pram and my nearly 5 year old can still (just about) fit in it. You’ll be fine because as people have said, babies tend to get taller faster than they get wider at this stage. Plus their growth really starts to slow down.

Aww his little feet! 🧸

Sorry - that doesn't help!

I thought exactly that 😍🤣

The yoyo my 4 year old used last week fine still for travel.
our friends had the ergo pram you do for their 2 and 5 year old and the 5 year old could still hope in and out fine.

Your 6 month old looks like they have loads of growing space

OK, so less than half the allowance? I had big babies (over 95th centile, 10lb 6oz at birth, etc), so know they don't necessarily fit to the limit, but 6m, 10kg seems way off outgrowing it. Hoping you find the solution that works for you!

I'm not suggesting he's outgrowing it at 6 months, it just seems his shoulders are going to hit the sides as he gets older

TheAlertHedgehog · 30/05/2024 19:38

I think I just don't like the pram. This is athe Aer and not as sturdy but looks better in the shoulders

Unless his Dad is Hagrid he will be fine for a few years in there.

6"4. I'm much shorter though

Sweetdreams98 · 30/05/2024 20:02

It does have a weird design.

FreestyleInTrance · 30/05/2024 21:09

It'll be fine. I had my daughter in an Ergobaby Metro until she was 3.5 (and she still fitted, she just hit the weight limit, which was lower on the original model Metro), and of the 4 pushchairs we used it was my absolute favourite 😁

If you're looking for something wider with a similar folding style then the Cosatto Woosh is bigger, but not quite as nice to push (the brake position is easily knocked).

A PP said the Bugaboo Butterfly and I would second it.

It is amazing! We've replaced our initial rough terrain "travel system" Mamas and Papas Occarro (which was an eye watering £800) with the Bugaboo Butterfly.

Pros:
Lightweight
Really easy to fold up and fold out with one hand
Fits as cabin luggage
Apparently one of the lightest cabin luggage buggies to lay almost flat

Cons:
Can't think of a single one!

Caspianberg · 31/05/2024 05:40

i would suggest the yoyo over any if you want to fly. We flew back with Ryanair a few days ago, the yoyo went on fine as they just asked if it was a yoyo. Someone with the bugaboo butterfly was told it was too large.

bugaboo butterfly folded : 54 x45x23 weighs 7.3kg
babyzen yoyo: 52 x 44x18cm weighs 6.2kg

My Ds is 104cm and tall, he could still sit comfortably in the yoyo, and he napped in it on several occasions last week travelling with time difference and schedules tiring ( he never usually naps either)

I have a baby jogger city mini which looks like it'll last a long time.
It fits in my reasonably modest boot with a wheel removed
