To be a bit desperate for this final dress!

Posting for traffic, and hopefully help!!

I have five events to go to over summer, each needing a different dress, I have a garden party event to go to, and some fabulous neutral shoes, which should go with anything.

Complete disaster! The dress I thought would be my final dress, dress number five, is absolutely huge!

So I have had to go back to the drawing board, I prefer natural fabrics, and I'm looking for something in a mid length, I'm only 5 foot three, I have a small waist, but reasonably large hips and bust, currently based on all the dresses I bought I would be a small size 8, possibly a size 6 in a brand like Hobbs, i'd definitely be petite,

I feel like I've seen every dress on the Internet, which can't possibly be possible! I'm looking for something with a V-neck, to show a little bit of cleavage, I think, and very nipped in waste, but then generous fabric on the hips, I guess maybe fit and flare? Nothing too radical, something classy and floral would be fine.

Please help, does anybody have any ideas, I feel like I've been absolutely everywhere in the Internet!

Up to 100 is my budget!

Thanks if anyone does help!

There is a gorgeous dress in the thread "Is this an acceptable wedding guest dress" - would that be any good?

Bumblebee907 · 19/05/2024 09:40

Learn to see and your never have this problem again as you can create your own dresses or alter new or secondhand ones.

I would look on www.freepeople.com/uk/?ar=fp-us,fp-uk
as already suggested.

greenbeansrock · 19/05/2024 10:46

why don’t you use one of the 4 dresses you have for events later on in the summer?

ThinWomansBrain · 19/05/2024 10:59

you don't need a new dress every time you go out - you've already bought 4 dresses, you probably have several in your wardrobe that - shock horror - you've worn before.

AlltheFs · 19/05/2024 11:02

If you have 4 dresses you like wear one twice. The sky won’t fall in. There’s no point buying something you don’t really want for the sake of it.

Mnetcurious · 19/05/2024 11:05

Yabu to think you need five different dresses for five different events. Especially if they’re all new. You must have something in your wardrobe, or just wear one of the other four dresses!

MolkosTeenageAngst · 19/05/2024 11:07

Surely you can wear at least one of the dresses twice?

PiggieWig · 19/05/2024 11:07

What kind of colours suit you OP?

Scirocco · 19/05/2024 11:57

Why does each event need a different/new dress?

Unless they're all things that are going to have high media presence and the gossip/fashion people in the media would recognise you and rip you apart for wearing the same thing twice, you probably already own something that would be suitable and would look great.

An alternative, if you absolutely have to have something new, could be to hire rather than buy - it's more sustainable than buying something brand new just to wear it once.

kitsuneghost · 19/05/2024 12:27

Sorry can't get past the needing 5 different dresses
Curious to the reason now.

Shodan · 19/05/2024 12:45

If the final dress is huge, could you just try the bangle/hairband hack? If you google bangle dress hack it'll show you how to do it.

Moveoverdarlin · 19/05/2024 13:45

Can you not buy the same dress in a smaller size? If it’s sold out, try EBay, Vinted, Depop.

Dakotabluebell · 19/05/2024 14:08

This is why the planet is drowning in unwanted clothes. Wear one of the 4 new dresses you already have or something from your wardrobe.

Gymnopedie · 19/05/2024 14:32

Show us the one that's too big so that we can see what you're aiming for.

This is a good point, however I'm hiring and borrowing!

Was hoping to buy this one and reuse!
